Looking for recommendations for my next flat pedal riding shoes purchase. My last two pair have been Five Ten Impact VXi and I have been less than impressed with these shoes (both price and durability) so I think I'll look elsewhere this time. Any strong opinions based on whats currently available? Cheers.

I run a KS Lev Integra in 175mm. The older models had some issues with stiction but they seem to have remedied this issue. This is my second dropper in this model, I had the 150mm and upgraded to the 175 for more length.  able actuated with lots of drop and seems to work well in all conditions.

Hey all - looking for recommendations on some decent riding glasses for use with a half lid. I'm searching for some riding glasses to protect the peepers and am having trouble finding some that a) provide enough coverage for my fat head and b) aren't ridiculously overpriced (*cough* SMITH *cough*) What are you guys riding? What works well and is cost effective? Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

What are you flat pedal purists riding on these days? I need to pick some pedals for my new AM bike. Looking for something thin and light-ish and sub $150. I had some HTs on my DH bike - liked the ultra thin look and low weight and was happy with the platform but the hardware is garbage. Any experience with the RF Atlas platforms? Or other suggestions? I have big feet (13) so that's a factor for me as well. Any input is appreciated - Thanks!

Ok so rather than start a new thread I thought I would resurrect this one…

I am in the process of trying to decide between SA and DPA for a 2016 160mm Lyrik that I will be ordering.
As a bigger dude (6'5", 240 lbs), the bottomless tokens are a must for me, and I'm choosing the Lyrik over a Pike for the added burliness.

From what I see on RS's website, the DPA internals will now accept bottomless tokens in both the Pike and the Lyrik. I was initially leaning towards DPA, but my LBS has cautioned me against them, saying that they are less reliable and don't feel as good as the SA. They also mentioned that he DPA does not accept the tokens, but that seems to have changed….

Any of you have any insights on the SA vs DPA conundrum? Thanks!

I don't know as much about the proposed Valemount development but the location is even worse than Jumbo as far as proximity to major centres. Not to mention the joy of traveling on Hwy 16 from Edmonton or PG. Also what's with the obsession on summer skiing? Is there any data to show it's a viable market (especially in North America in a remote area), it doesn't seem like something people are going to travel regionally/internationally for crappy glacier skiing in the summer in a province with so much other summer recreation available. Outside of training camps it's a gimmick.

Yeah it does seem like a bit of a risky venture, but I think it's mostly other investor's cash on the line, not Oberti's so much. In terms of selling proposition, they are banking on snow quality (one of the reasons many high class heli-ski operations are located in the area), proximity to Mt. Robson and the Jasper National Park, and sightseeing opportunities in the summer. As far as the summer glacier skiing - it does seem very niche and I also wonder what kind of demand there will be for that, outside of ski teams and professional athletes.
There is no doubt that it is fairly remote, but it does have some larger communities within a number of hours (3 to PG, 3 to Kamloops, 5 to Edmo). There is also an airport very near the proposed resort base, which could allow for fly-in access essentially. I'm interested to see how this will play out - they are pursuing this development very aggressively at this point. The project is small enough that it will not need to go through a formal Environmental Assessment process and the developers are hopeful that they can begin construction next spring. There has been talks about trying to have some basic infrastructure in and usable for Christmas 2016, though that seems very ambitious.

Oberti has other irons in the fire with substantially more community and FN support. (www.valemountglaciers.com) Some speculation that they let Jumbo die to pursue greener pastures…

Ya I agree about the squats. The workout I posted is for the first month, my workout for month 2 is as follows:

Squat 5x5
Incline DB Press 5x5
Dips 4xF
DB hang clean and press 5x5
Barbell row 5x5
Pull ups 4xF
KB circuit x4

I plan to rotate between these two workouts for 4 months, the move to more unilateral training and lighter weights. I am training for overall strength and fitness, but I plan to focus on more MTB specific training in March. Right now I am looking to make some serious gains in my compound lifts

Alright NSMB fitness gurus… riding season is over where I live, that means getting my ass back to the gym to stay in shape over the winter and train hard for next summer. I have put together a program and was hoping for some critiques/input. I would consider myself fairly knowledgable with this stuff, but am always open to other opinions.

I am looking to make overall strength and size gains over the coming months (Nov-Feb), Then focus harder on conditioning and endurance in the spring. For now, I want to focus primarily on using free-weights and body weight exercises, as well as compound movements (except on arm day).
