Way back in the 26 inch wheel days I had the Tech X2 Hope brakes. I think the callipers are the same but the lever, master cylinder end is different now. My set up was not strong enough for North Van trails and my 140 pounds. It was a cross country race brake I think. Personally I go for bigger brake rotors and four piston brakes.

Yeah. JWs don’t allow blood transfusions. An uncle of mine needed heart surgery but wouldn’t have it done because of that. Made my father angry that his brother died in his mid 60s when he didn’t have to. Prince too. He needed hip replacements badly but wouldn’t do it for those same religious reasons. Ended up hooked on pain killers as a result and died from that instead. Stupid.
I’ve seen a few of the full suspension Chromag adult bikes on the trail. There was one outside their shop last time I was there too. Coming soon?

Losing a dog is hard. Dogs are so consistent in their "love" for us, that constant companion. I miss my boy. He died Monday presumably from heart failure at age 7. I had to find him back on the trail and carry him out. I imagine Big Willie will leave a big hole in many hearts.

Ordered today. I’m thinking because most helmets these days allow a goggle to mount under a visor that the strap on this light will mount like a goggle too. I tried my current dim headlamps and it seems to work ok. Might be too giggly though but we’ll see.

It’s coming I think within a year. BC is waiting for Washington, Oregon and California to make the change. Those states are in the process of getting their federal government to enact the laws (or whatever) to do so. I looked it up yesterday because I was curious.
So many good suggestions in this thread. No one is wrong either. But you need to experiment to find out what works best for you. I sweat heavily unless it’s really cold or I ride slow. Many climbs don’t really allow going easy around here so it’s about sweat management for me. Going up "be bold, start cold" works for me. If you feel comfortable walking around the trail head, you wore too much. Remove a layer and carry it up. Wind vests and jackets are great. Many are very light weight and packable. I like merino for really cold weather where I’m not going to go so hard that the sweat faucets are full open. Cross country skiing sees me in Lifa polypropylene under layer as it dries faster than merino. It may not completely dry out on a longer descent but I find it has a better chance of that than merino. Dry polypropylene is warmer than wet wool.

Picked a blackberry and ate it. It was not very tasty, but it was October 20th so I felt I had to. This is the craziest and driest October I can remember. Not just dry, but warm. Today feels like the first day of fall. It will probably be nothing but 4 months of atmospheric rivers now.

I had the wonky tires but the valves were fine. Thing is the line moulded into the sidewall was equidistant all the way round. I blamed the Maxxis tires at the time. Maybe it was the inserts?
