Blame vegans and their demand for almond milk.
Blame the capitalist and religious dogma for increasing the population.

Surly is not as MEATy as it used to be, but they just posted a hardtail/double hardtail spew on their blog with even a nod to the one true path of SS.

For me suspension just makes things faster. I can ride the same trails with or without suspension it's the speed that is different. Neither is better or worse - just different. A HT is somewhere in the middle.
Bingo.

The question is why are most people still running bars that are straighter..."
It’s got to be a throw back to the narrow bars we had in the early 90s. Straighter bars worked then because our hands were close together particularly with bar ends occupying some space. As our hands move farther apart the angle where we grip is greater. I have to assume product designers simply ordered wider bars with the same angles.
I just bought a 160 length crank, which used a different bb standard and ring standard so it cost me about $700 at the end of the day. Of course it works better. It cost a lot. I’m joking but that kind of thinking is a factor sometimes. How many butt ugly overly large homes are there that use expensive cladding and materials that are aesthetically hideous. We all to an extent judge things by cost. Must be good it was expensive. Similarly people justify cheapness a similar way. People will buy that off brand thing for less than half of a known brand but claim it’s nearly as good.
We allow ourselves to be convinced that wide ratio cassettes must be better. Even if that ten cog only sees a chain when we set the limit screws and adjust it. Range is an easy metric to sell. It has more. More is more better. For Shore riding a 12 speed that he a 12 or 13 high would get used a heck of lot more. And if one could use more of the 12 cogs we’d get longer life out of the thing. Spread the wear. I kind of miss the days of 5 and 6 speed freewheels and cog boards where we would mix and make our own ratios. No one misses freewheels and bent axles though. No one misses friction shifting. I’ll bet not too many people could tell the difference between a boost and non boost wheel set. You could tell a badly built wheel or mushy aluminum rimmed wheel from something better.

NOT WHEN YOU PUT IT DERAILLEUR SIDE DOWN.
THE HORROR.
It could be worse. The bike could be upside down.
I would but I’m in Whistler.
No one would make a movie of my life. Too normal and dull.and that’s totally OK.
Way back in the 26 inch wheel days I had the Tech X2 Hope brakes. I think the callipers are the same but the lever, master cylinder end is different now. My set up was not strong enough for North Van trails and my 140 pounds. It was a cross country race brake I think. Personally I go for bigger brake rotors and four piston brakes.

Anyone lucky enough to get in on a trading card?
Well they exist only as an NFT so you can’t even wipe your ass with one.
Trump NFT trading cards? What the serious delusional fuck is that.

My mom and borther are the exact same way. my mom never gave a rats ass about politics and now its the same story as above. I really dont get it. I saw this thing where a baby was having a heart operation or something and the parents canceled it cause of the possibility of donor blood having come from a vaccinated person.
this one
fucking morons.
How fucked do you have to be to risk your baby's life over a vaccine? Don't they wonder how so many of us have received several boosters and manage to survive?
I'm pretty sure there is a party of religious fanatics maybe the JW's who don't allow blood transfusions
Yeah. JWs don’t allow blood transfusions. An uncle of mine needed heart surgery but wouldn’t have it done because of that. Made my father angry that his brother died in his mid 60s when he didn’t have to. Prince too. He needed hip replacements badly but wouldn’t do it for those same religious reasons. Ended up hooked on pain killers as a result and died from that instead. Stupid.
I’ve seen a few of the full suspension Chromag adult bikes on the trail. There was one outside their shop last time I was there too. Coming soon?

Losing a dog is hard. Dogs are so consistent in their "love" for us, that constant companion. I miss my boy. He died Monday presumably from heart failure at age 7. I had to find him back on the trail and carry him out. I imagine Big Willie will leave a big hole in many hearts.
really sorry to hear that Andy, always enjoyed seeing you and the dogs on the trail...which I also miss since moving to Squamish
Yeah me too. We always shared a laugh or two. My mother in law is in Squamish now at the end of Mamquam Rd. Maybe we’ll be lucky and run into each other.
we're on the golf course end of mamquam, nice to have the river trails/dike to walk Dakota on, and the golf course now that it's closed for the winter!
I thought so. I saw what I think was your company truck up there. MIL is in the older townhouse development.
When did these come out? https://chromagbikes.com/collections/pedals/products/pilot
