Leatt DBX 5.0 Waterproof Jacket and Short Reviewed - Nov. 16, 2018, 7:56 a.m.

When I say get my hands on it, I mean trying it on before I buy it. Have a pretty big love hate relationship relationship with CRC. Got dinged pretty bad by customs last time I ordered, there is endless threads on this site as you know. If It doesn't fit and I have to send it back who covers the duty charges? It's just too much hassle ordering outside Canada. Plus I try to support my LBS's they have always been really good to me.

Anyways, good review, maybe one day someone will seriously try to carry this companies stuff, it looks great. It's just strange that they have you reviewing and promoting something that is hard to get, that's all.

Great review. Too bad it's for a company that it's next to impossible to find a shop that actually carries it here in BC. Would love one of their helmets with the removable chin bar but wanna try one on before I purchase, same with shorts. Tried contacting the company that reps them, they were really no help.  So have to say I don't know what the story is with this company. Advertising stuff you cant actually get your hands on.

If You Can't Ride From Home, Ride From Somewhere - Oct. 30, 2018, 5:14 p.m.

Same, the parks guys even fixed up the trail on the south entrance, off the power lines... Nice easy spin to Breamar from home is great. When I take my 8 year old trail dog I drive, he doesn't have the range he used to.

Uncle Dave Thinks You Should Vote - Oct. 17, 2018, 8:55 a.m.

A wave tank like Kelly Slater's  surf ranch on the North Shore. That would win the election for sure.

Ya that was pure gold.

Dear Uncle Dave: My Roadtrips have become Petty Arguments Disguised as Vacations - Oct. 3, 2018, 1:59 p.m.

It would be a to prove a point. Also make sure they have a limo driver licence, insurance, pst, gst numbers etc.  Since they are charging fees on top of fuel I guess they are a business all of a sudden? I have never seen this in person, these people actually exist?

That has to be one of the most messed up letters. I would never hang out with people like that. The long road trips we all just split gas, take turns filling the tank.

Squamish/Whistler trips take turns or buy lunch and beers, it all evens out in the long run. If someone wanted to charge me for wear and tear on the car, I would demand an invoice then I would edit them out of my life pretty fast.

A super positive person. Have to say I am quite shocked that she is gone after seeing her not long ago.

Such a loss. RIP

Good read thx Metacomet.

Really comes down to that it has a motor, its motorized. This whole thing is bizzarre how the bike industry thinks different.

Uncle Dave E-Explains Himself - Sept. 19, 2018, 12:10 p.m.

I don't think the land managers here are going to want the headache of deciding what bike, what wattage, penedlec, throttle, or what have you in the next few years. So we will all be lumped into one group and will be losing trail access. The sharing of trails, mostly climbing trails with hikers/runners was pretty chill but now but with the speed of climbing almost as fast as descending in places will be a poor result for everyone.

For the record I demo'd the Divinci ebike a while back. In boost mode it's a full on motorbike as long as you are spinning your legs effortlessly, the thing is engaged big time. I thought it was comical.

Drunk on Press Junket Lemonade - Sept. 18, 2018, 5:33 p.m.

I see your point Cam, but why does the bike industry giants get to decide what is trail friendly motorized and what isn't? They get to put their ebikes on trail but another company making gas assisted bikes are shut out? More crap for the land mangers to deal with no?

Another senario: Up on the trails.....It's OK for me to be here, my "Pendelec" is assisted, you have a ebike with a throttle, you have to go home. Have fun trying to police that.... The Land managers are going to lump everyone together and we could be losing trail networks.

In 5 years the tech will be that much better, people will barely be pedaling at all for hours. The line between bicycle and moto will be so blurred.

Hey can't wait to rip up GSM at 30km per hour, gunna be so sick.

It's how the light floods the trail is the most important thing IMO.
