Just bought a place in Vernon. Got it in September so still haven't ridden too much. First weekend got dropped off up top, rode some xc up on Silver Star then rode back to the cabin the entire way on trail and fire road. Took about an hour and a half.

Can't wait to explore more.

High level of use??? I am up in that area all the time and I rarely ever saw anyone ride it except me and my boys. As far as closing it because of the difficulty or danger, there are far more trails out there with higher difficulty and more consequence. I was riding it until the very end….the structures were relatively wide except for the boulder roll near the bottom.

I don't pretend to know much about the environmental reasons but it really doesn't look much different than many other trails that are still open.

I will defer to the NSMBA on this as I am sure they would rather keep it open if at all possible. Keep up the good work!

And 10 minutes away in Midway there is actually a trail system next to the Kettle River. You can ride up the mountain and into the US!

There is no parking at Dempsey/Braemar….those aren't the spots/droids you are looking for.

Never thought I could make the whole thing but finally did it the other day…2 really quick dabs but kept forward momemtum. Took about 60 min. A couple of my trouble spots have been made "easier" but it's still a tough one. Now to do it totally clean!
Curious as to how long some of the very fit guys do it in….I KNOW you guys keep track!

Wasn't sure where to post this but i AM on the shore…..anyone buy a used bike in the states and bring it back? Is there taxes? Duties? I know I could probably just look it up but this way is way more fun!

My 2 cents..You guys want a Flying Circus and Walk in the Clouds type trail on the shore? Back in the day there were maybe 20 guys?who were riding those trails and they were basically a secret.There was no Internet so word didn't get out. Nowadays with the sheer number of riders not to mention social media there would be hundreds of riders every weekend. Every yahoo who thinks they have skills would want to try them. NSR would be pulling riders out every weekend and the entire shore would be closed in a month.
The shore is like no other place on earth what with 100,000 people within 10 minutes and a million within 30 minutes (dependant on 2nd narrows of course). Add all the different user groups and land managers and we should be very lucky we have what we have. Ask any rider who is here on vaca from anywhere in the world if they have anything like this where they are from.
Don't get me wrong I loved those 2 trails…my kids rode them!

Just curious if said helmetless rider has kids and if he thinks they are "overrated" for them as well?
