Nice video! Great to see the riders having so much fun, that is what it is all about. It's nice to see a video that's not only about hucking and going big.

Great post, very well written and funny. And just another point to add, say Hi to the hikers as well. There is a big difference in the impression left behind between a full faced jerk racing by cutting them off and someone who stops in the trail and acknowledges the hiker(s) with a simple Hello.

How would you describe the XC climbing ability of this bike? Based on your experience with the bike, how would it handle on some of the Whistler Valley XC trails? In particular, how do you think it would handle on Comfortably Numb??

Injuries happen in mountain biking. The golden rule in mountain biking safety is finding the balance between riding safe and progressing your skills. There exists a fine line between safety and pushing your limits. Saying this, it is inevitable that at some point if you continue progressing your riding skills that you will get injured.

I've documented my recent ankle injury in the following video along with my detailed recovery and return to the sport.

Please note that each recovery program should be tailored to your specific fitness level and a health care professional should be consulted before beginning any recovery program.

Is the video an advertisement for some fitness place?

The point of my video was to focus on recovery while offering a gesture of respect to Kid Rock.

Thanks for your reply and your feedback after viewing, I've now re-edited the video to focus more on recovery. I am lucky in that I have a good relationship with both my orthopaedic surgeon and physiotherapist. I've worked closely with them and I've included their tips on what I need to be focusing on apart from fitness. Along with this, I've shortened the fitness segment to 30 seconds in my edit.

Recovery can be a big setback mentally for any rider, I ultimately wish that my video motivates the injured viewer to remain mentally strong minded during this difficult time.

I agree The Gangler is totally different in particular the entrance.  The entrance is longer and is on an upward angle, then the descent is curved where the Espresso rock roll is straight down.  I would say that The Gangler is a much more advanced feature, at least for myself.  I won't lie when I say that it scares the hell out of me just approaching it, but I guess that it's all relative.

I crashed on Expresso a couple years ago. I had new cleats and didn't commit to the feature. Here's the video of it with my redemption on a later date.
