i learned to do the air can service myself (easy) and called Fluid Function and asked them why they recommend their special sauce seal grease.  basically as you said above, it's not that Slickoleum isn't good in this application, it's just that it's very light and doesn't last long, especially for those who wait too long between service intervals. i use a heavier grease in summer.

there are extensive tests by the most serious watt measuring enginerds out there who have tested most lubricants and wax dipping. waxing wins handily on every front. i'm sure every pro road team and probably xc mtb does this. long lasting, super clean, lowest friction, lowest watts lost. google molten speed wax and put your reading glasses on.

Locally it's as though nobody downtown noticed there were mountains above our city until they saw them on their phones. They go for the likes rather than the experience.

if you were to tell someone who didn't mtb to google any mtb video and they would surely think mtb is one of 2 things or both combined:  racing or bicycle jumping.  because so much of mtb is a competitive sport (i get that it's fun for many people to challenge themselves and compete, i'll include many friends) this is inevitable. but it's so much of the sport that those who are constantly training to race have that narrow mentality and it's an anti-social, too cool for school, freaking hazard out there.

Timber bells are awesome.  i get mocked for mine, don't care. i'm very surprised they aren't more prevalent and popular due to their turn on turn off feature.

Cam, is that 2.6 DHR 'shore worthy'? people seem to take the piss out of the 2.6 offerings as being too flimsy. would be my next front tire, but i've picked up a barely used MM 2.6 which will be next. currently have a 2.4 DHR with MGripp (exo) which was an odd find. wanted to find out what the fuss was about with the extra soft rubber. it's very very good in extra slippery conditions i'm finding, if a bit narrow.

wow, this thread is an eye opener. scary shit!  i feel lucky, only a couple of minor shoulder injuries all healed within about 6 months to full strength. at 52 i'm still hoping to ride hard as i can for a while but the fear of serious injury is real. it's my knees that are getting more sore and i had a minor sprain from a twisting fall last year that refuses to go away.  apparently hockey is not considered a rehab activity, who knew..   i wanna be a lanky rubber band like i was when i was 18, but it just don't work that way anymore!!

from what i've seen Lucic is tough but essentially a clean player. can't say that about ketchup.  the semantics and analysis of a hit are interesting, but if the term 'predatory' is to have any meaning, ketchups hits on Kass were definitely that. it's surprising that Kass didn't get injured. it will be interesting how the season unfolds between the teams.

ketchup is impressively skilled and plays with fire and impeccable timing right on the razor edge. i guess Zac was just tired of being on the losing end of a number of plays and hits by the better (uglier, mange-ier, goofier, cuntier) player and lost his composure.  i'd like to see another player i hate Reaves and ketchup tangle and see the outcome.

hell yes i did. my wife doesn't understand. i'm not a violent person and don't love fighting, but that Tkatchuk meathead, what a mangy mutt shit disturbing arrogant twat. i don't even follow him but anytime i see his mug i cringe. he's so easy to hate it's ridiculous. his stupid hair and his constant chewing on his mouthguard, i hate the ugly fucker!   loved seeing Kassian beat on him, wish he caught him more flush with some of those haymakers to be honest.

tire pressure is interesting in that i can get away with 20/22 (with rimpact in the rear) for a moderate winter ride, but if i hit the 1 trail that allows for any real speed (and it's only a stretch of about 150m) that's too low. i'll bottom out through the rimpact if i don't miss a couple of key rocks. sounds like some of you ride faster trails and higher pressures are a must. 

in summer i have to go up a few psi for sure, but i still try and keep as low as possible. places where corners are fast and berms exist it sounds like high pressures are a necessity.

i still can't believe that's the last thing he said to that room of stars!  the media goes on about everything else, but he actually said to them, get drunk, take your drugs fuck off!!  if i didn't hear it myself i wouldn't believe it.
