Apology to Digger.

Internet witch hunts are chicken shit. please show proper respect.

You are right. I deleted my drunken rant from last night as it's embarrassing. I was an asshole. I have called Digger and apologised to him.

I'm going to log out now and keep it that way.

airborne toxin?

PinkBike reviewed it. It sounds decent enough (at that pricepoint) for shuttle/lift assist riding, but a bit portly if there's gonna be much climbing involved.

Have you looked for a used 26" AM bike? You could probably find a much lighter bike like a Rocky Slayer or something at that price point with better components that would make more sense for the majority of riding that you'll be doing, and can still handle the occasional day in the bikepark.

Game of Thrones - Season 3!!1

Ive seen all 4 episodes. Quality is fine.

Must have just been where I had a look then. The picture was ok, but the dialogue was definitely out of time so I figured I'd wait a day or two and see if I could find a better upload of episode 1.

Game of Thrones - Season 3!!1

First 4 episodes of Season 5 have been leaked and are available to download.

I had a look at that yesterday. "Apparently" the quality is poor, and the dialogue is slightly out of sync.

Any suggestions for an upper guide that works with a 30t NW chainring?

Thanks again for the info folks. I just got back from a ride with a buddy who has been running a 32t N/W with no guide (or bash) for a few months and he hasn't dropped a chain yet, so I think I'll see how I get on with just a bash ring.

I thought the whole point of a narrow wide was to eliminate the need for guides and tensioners?

It is, but then you see the bike set-ups at enduro races where nearly everyone is using a guide as well, and you begin to wonder…

I am using mrp amg guide.

With a NW 30t ring? Do you get clearance on both ends of the cassette without the chain sliding against the guide?

if you're a weakling who rides at a moderate pace and doesn't race, you'll be fine with a clutch d and n/w ring

That's fighting talk! I'm a weakling on long boring forest service roads (or Old Fucking Buck), but not too bad on technical climbs. The technical climbs (where they exist on the Shore) are why I went with a 30t chainring. I'm a cack handed moderately/reasonably fast heavy lairy beast on the downs though. You should see my lines though, so so wrong, even when I try. And that's why I'm concerned about dropping a chain.

I hear a lot of people telling me that a guide won't be required, and they are probably correct. Then I read about worn rings and race scenarios (not that I race), and I hear otherwise. Thanks everyone for the replies. I emailed a local manufacturer a few minutes after starting this thread, asking the same question. They got back to me super pronto and it appears that something for this application is in the works. I'll give it a go without a guide (but with a bash) for a while and if that doesn't work I'll hack my old chain guide with a file, saw and some spacers to tide me over until the real thing is available.

It's a OneUp, with a clutch derailleur. I'm hoping I don't need a guide and i'm going to try it without and see what happens, but my internet sleuthing suggests that it's a good idea if you're going to be riding rougher stuff (the Shore) reasonably* quickly.

*Or moderately quickly, but like a hack…

Or when it wears a bit.

Any suggestions for an upper guide that works with a 30t NW chainring?

Hi,
I'm going 1x10, and as I'm a weakling I've purchased a 30t NW chainring. Can anyone offer a suggestion for an upper chainguide that will work well with the 2mm inboard offset 30t rings have, and not rub the chain when it's at either end of the casette? It will be mounted on a 3x10 Shimano XT crankset and I'll probably keep my 32t bashring on there (unless I can find an upper guide and taco bash combo that works). Frame is a Banshee Rune V2. Cheers!

Inter-river park mtb section demolished

My question is when and why did the nsmba step away from maintaining it?

Genuine question, were they ever involved or was it strictly a DNV parks thing? It was neglected for a long time which always seemed odd to me.

I've heard whisperings about what might be going on, but it's probably best if those who know the details decide to post some information…

Michael Moore for POTUS!

You don't like Canadian Football? Or you don't want to watch it on free HBO?

I can watch Better call Saul and Game of Thrones for free already, why would I want to watch a bunch of jocks grunt and wrestle each other?

SRAM GX

If they were smart it would be an electric group

If they were really smart, it would be a cheaper wide range 1x10 group.

But they are not. They want to push 1x11, while the majority of the intended market has had enough bullshit from these guys and is looking at that Praxis cassette…and is waiting for an 11-42.

(or maybe it's just me).
