I feel your pain! But don't write off 26″ as being unavailable yet. I've got 3 26ers. One is a 2014 model I just bought at a huge discount (at my LBS). I'm looking for upgrades and parts constantly and there is TONS out there still, especially online. There is not many new 2015 26″ bikes being sold this year (in trail/am/enduro), but there are some. I think 26″ will be around for a while yet.

I believe that drop at 1:05 is in Princess Park.

OK I have to chime as I was recently talking about this. I think that most likely I will die in my late 70's or early 80's after falling off my bike (probably on Fromme) and breaking my hip. After the surgery I will realize that my mountain biking days are over. I will be dead within three months.

If you have an old Marzocchi fork kicking around it might be worth looking to trade it in for a new one at the Marzocchi service center. If you do you should be able to get a new 55 for under $500. I think the 2015 55''s come in a 1 1/8 steer tube still. Also CRC has a 2015 55r for under $500 right now.

I rented a demo scout from my lbs and took it for a rip up Griffen, then KOS, then up to 7th, Leopard, Crinkum, Kirkford, Bobsled, Natural High, Immonator. Compared to my 2011 Pitch Pro it was better at everything except straight line stability. I really liked it but didn't wasn't impressed with the Pike on the front ( I've heard they feel better after some tweaking ). If you decide to buy one of these I'm confident you will not be disappointed. It's stand out feature for me was it's technical climbing prowess. That thing just crawled up everything.

What about the possibility of building a trail from the Baden Powell where Ladies exits (not The Big Stupid but the original Ladies line that comes out on the BP just before Lower Ladies) to the 2nd switch back? It could snake just under Van Tan to the 2nd although I'm not sure what the terrain is like. This way People coming from that direction to the parking lot could finish up with a Bobsled or Floppy Bunny and avoid the last section of the BP.

I noticed a DNV survey truck at the top of Natural High today. As I rode by the top of the trail I looked down to see someone using a surveyor about 30 meters in. He was surveying to the south east pointing directly towards Mountain View Park. It makes me nervous seeing this. Perhaps I'm being paranoid but I'm really hoping this is not a bad sign. I prefer trees to subdivisions. Any thoughts on what this could be about? Thanks.

Hi Everyone! I find riding my mountain bike (especially on the shore) has ingrained itself into part of who I am. When I'm not riding my bike I'm usually thinking about riding. It's a form of obsession or mental addiction that if I didn't ride at all, might be filled with less savory habits. I often ride by myself and it puts me in a mental state that could best be described as a form of meditation. Especially technical riding. It forces you to focus on only one thing so intently that all other thoughts are shunted from your mind. I think most riders reach some state of meditation when they ride and perhaps aren't aware of it. Another key aspect of riding I love (perhaps a little less as I age) is the high you receive from overcoming an element of risk. Riding a difficult technical feature satisfies some primal need in me. Maybe it taps into some hunter/warrior deep part of my mind. after all, we have spent most of our existence just trying to survive. Overcoming physical danger while in a state of meditation……….sounds good doesn't it? Now add those with the more tangible benefits from riding your mountain bike like physical fitness, being in nature, creating memories, and spending time with friends and loved ones, and you have a recipe for wellness. Got to go ride!
