I agree the best builders put in as many turns as possible. keeping water off the trail is the key to preventing errosion. Is there only one way to build a trail? I hope not. Skinnies and split planks get you over wet spots. I like fast and flowy trails. I also like trails with gap jumps and step downs. And I also like trails with cunning stunts made up of skinnies, planks and log rides. Variety is the spice of life. Thank god all trails are NOT built the same.

That is some solid building. Rock armoring is labor intensive. The interlocking of rock is art in my oppinion. Im glad pics were taken before being covered over with non organic dirt[golden sand]. These pics are like the bible of how trails should be built and maintained.
To all that helped on that rainy day. You now have a feeling of pride and accomplishment every time you ride that trail.

I commute latley on marine drive North Van. Plenty of commuter cyclist like me even on rainy cold days!

Each watt of Cree led has the potential of 300 lumens.
I think they make five watt leds. Thats 1500 lumens.
Ten five watt leds has the potential for 15000 lumens.
Ect ect.
They run at four to five volts so you need a transformer or a wack of lithium ion four volt batteries.
Simple math.
btw if you ran your whole house on cree leds. You would save a lot of power.
Ten five watt leds on your car would blind the crap out of other motorist.
i suggest twenty five watt leds for a nice round number of 30 thousand lumens.

Thats good .Most trails should not be ridden in such conditions. On the other hand . Pipe line had a sweet river cleaning all the armor. The wood work is sweet. Rode every thing. Met the original builder and his family hiking the trail.
The improvements done recently do a great job of maintaining the original feel of the trail.
