Devinci Spartan

^^awesome. that'd be a great ad. I've said to a few people , I don't think I've seen or heard of any failures in my experience(unlike intense, jamis, etc). had a quick demo on a Spartan. put the 650b apprehension to rest for me. 1st time on the tweener wheels and other than rolling faster the bike was still super agile. good climber(for a 165mm bike). on the down it felt intuitive right from the get go. couldn't help but appreciate the attention to detail with the frame and spec. every tube looks shaped and formed to perfecton . the addition of a skid plate , I think, just shows their philosophy of not sacrificing durability for some small weight savings. I did wonder why the front brackets that the shock attaches to weren't milled out like most bikes, however small a difference that would make

NSMB - 2014 – Enduro / Trail Bike Thread

Not the greatest pic, but stoked to get out and thrash this beast!

had a chance to try one of these at the demo today. unreal. it was in my top2 picks with the new rune. I went with the rune because they were good to deal with, besides being in my top 2 picks, and no frame option on the Spartan yet. I wanted short cs's. wondering if I made the right choice now. pedaled well even standing but the down was full on play time. 1st time on 650b but that thing is super agile(I think because of the short cs and bb height?). wouldn't change a thing on it. had it in the steeper setting. like to try the other setting. just a quick 40 minute loop though. you must be psyched

replacing v1 rune pivot issue

hopefully someones faced this. just putting some new pivots/bushings in my 09? v1 rune. picked up the new kerronite axle/bushing set. the problem is the new axles have a little tab at the bevel that I believe is supposed to stop the axle from rotating in the links so just rotates in the bushing. my links don't have the slot for that tab to recess into. should I just file a groove in the link for it to recess? should I try to remove the tab from the axle(looks like possibly to have a bonding agent)? cheers. new v2 on the way so want to freshen the v1 for a sale

Scored new skis today!

picked up some Moment deathwish's this yr. fun ski. billed as the one ski quiver. never knew a 112 waisted ski could carve that well. freaky. combination of the moustache rocker and sidecut. bites , pops, carves. I think I'd like it with a bit narrower tail though. its a bit hooky with a couple inches of chop over hard/icy conditions. sacrifice a touch of carve for less hook and easier pivot. ordered a pair of Praxis yetis today to replace my Moment tahoes as a spring touring ski. last day of Praxis ski sale. used my 15% off code on top of sale price. can't wait tp try them. a few tweaks over the Tahoe for its intended purpose(spring tours). lighter, flatter tail but similar sidecut

Great new BCA BC LINK Radios for the Backcountry!

fully programmable both with the key pad and with a computer. these are the ones we use at work. so I have not personally programmed one, my personal radio is different. radios are key to not getting killed on logging roads. also having a talk channel (ie a frequency not used locally) so you and your group can communicate with each other with out walking all over the road channel, or the local catski or heli ski ops is nice.

we have the same at work and like you just haven't programmed them. they're preprogrammed for highway repeaters and a couple "ladd" channels for closer distance communication. ordered one. go with what you know I guess. should be perfect for my usage. can stealthly listen in to work on my days off too
