Talk to your kids about Star Wars

We had one of these conversations last night! One of my kids got a home-made valentine with a cut-out of the Death Star on it…i had to explain that it wasn't a ship, more of a planet but it did get blown up…and what is that concave disc on it for anyway? was that the tractor beam?

Wet is an understatement!!! But oh so much fun! Rode all the way up to 7th (well to Upper Oilcan then the snow started and the pedaling slowed to a push)

7th had some snow on the first little bit then cleared up and was in pretty good nick. Pipeline is also great (not a lot of water on the trail consider the monsoon we seem to be having!) Finished on Lower Crippler which is also in awesome riding condition!

Didn't see a lot of other people out today, anybody would think you're all made of sugar or something :P

The only other riders i saw yesterday were retrieving a few beers from the creek by the Baden-Powell exit just as i was starting up. Looks like you had a good ride!

nsmb parents unite

 It's true. My parents favorite line was always " That's it. If you won't eat it then go hungry."

As my mother-in-law says "Hunger's the best sauce!"

If assholes could fly...

What's the speed limit on Deerfoot these days?
I remember my Calgary days….frightening to drive, especially with compact snow and a blizzard!

Now we've got kilometre markings on Mountain Highway! As if i need a marker every half a kilometre to remind me how slow i'm going! Dang.

probably a little less ice than yesterday on the corners going up, just a little mushy and a few remnants of ice the first bit of Pipeline get your attention, then all fun…warm too.

Summer Road Trip Ideas

Thinking about a summer road trip with friends….open to suggestions for a 5-7 day trip. Some long cross-country epic days, maybe mixed with some big downhills, or downhill areas…ie) Merrit, Kamloops, Sunpeaks, Vernon, Silverstar….
or Rossland, Pentiction, Nelson, OR, the island, Courtney, mt.washington, etc.
Ideas?

couldn't get out until 1:30 yesterday…right when it started to rain/snow. But other than pushing the last 100 metres to Pipeline, it was a bit of crusty snow, then wet, and excellent the rest of the way…may be a bit icy with the cooler temps. good flow!

Slow Tech Trails

How about tight switchbacks, with or without a drop on the corner?
