Great advice Morgan. One I would add personally is a narrow-wide chainring (assuming your bike doesn't come with 1X11, at this price point probably a fair assumption). It makes your bike so much quieter, saves weight by losing front shifter and derailleur (and not replacing it with a chain device) and works way better than I ever thought it would. If, like me, you still want a bigger range and are never in a huge rush to shift your front gears, you can even leave your granny ring on and use your foot/hand to change gear. At $40-50 I think it is a solid upgrade.

Fort William may just be proof that GT have gone in the right direction with their team selection…pretty sure the Athertons will be fast whatever bikes they are on. This fury does look a lot better than the old one though.

Awesome read, thanks Seb. It really is amazing and inspirational what you have achieved this summer. You definitely helped me recover from my injury, and put it into perspective. I hope other people can take your advice and benefit from it too. Thanks buddy!

Have to agree with what Stephen said, that gap Dylan hit is one of the burlier things I have seen anyone do on a bike in a long time. Huge respect to him for that one, and thanks to the whole crew for an awesome weekend!

I think I would rather get rid of my rear derailleur than my front one. That's the one I smash on stuff all the time. Front derailleurs last for ever. The 1X11 does look sweet though, and one derailleur is better than two whichever end it's at.

I had the same guide on my stumpy and it has been nothing but awesome, I never dropped the chain and it was super quiet. I thought it would have trouble jumping between the jockey wheels, but once I got it set up right it was great. I found I had to move the bottom roller in pretty close for the best set up.
