I don't believe the original Hummer bikes were entirely related to the sexual Hummer. These were the original bomb proof shore bike that came out about the same time in the 90's that the public was able to buy a Real Hummer just like the US Army had been using for years. " Don't let your summer be a bummer get yourself a Deep Cove Hummer " was the add that ran back then in Ski Freak Radical that later became Kootenay Mountain Culture magazine. I still have my original Cove Hummer it's great for ripping over town on. Always get comments when I ride it.. If I had the cash I'd get one of the new 650B's. Not keen on the BJ part of the name either

I went to the premier of Kranked at Richards on Richards. The place was packed and the drinks were flowing. When the film finally started around 1030 the place went OFF. Everyone was hammered and was blown away by the tunes and the Awesome film. The first big production free ride movie. It was a wild party.

Haven't been there recently but in the past we have ridden up to Windy Joe look-out. Just a fire road but the look-out is kinda cool. We actually stashed our bikes there and continued on to Mt Frosty. It was nice coming out to just rip down hill from where we stashed our bikes.

Done the ride to Poland Lake too. There used to be a hiking trail that went from the lake down to the highway works yard at Alison Pass on the highway. Always thought that had potential to be a great ride. That trail was disappearing 20 years ago so I'm sure it would be a bushwhack now.

The folks at Metro have been at it again making the woods safe. Walking Aftertaste with your dog is now barely possible below the big log ride. Lots of trees cut down in the bluff sections and piled across the trail. How would we survive without them looking out for our safety.

I was only trying to point out why skins slip. It's been my experience that a lot of the time it's cause the skin track is punched out by snowshoers and boot packers. Chill folks.

What about animal tracks? How do we contact them to let them know what they are doing is wrong. One of the best quotes I have heard on this subject is anyone arguing on either side of the snowshoe, vs. hiker, vs. skinning track debate is a wanker…if you can't ski in that track, make a new one, no one owns it…

That's news to me. Why would you destroy a nice skin track by tramping it down with your boots or snowshoes, walk beside it. I don't recall saying wrong the word I used was Etiquette. I guess your pretty much just flying up on your sled anyways eh Dave. I guess I'm just a wanker. Thanks Mr G3 spokesperson. You are the "Expert".

The problem I see a lot of is bad climbing etiquette. Boot packers and snowshoers walking on skin track. This creates depressions in skin track so the whole skin is not in contact with the snow. Equals less traction. Boot packers and snowshoers get out of the skin track. My G3 skins work just fine.

One of my favorite trails. I put the treated 2x10 in on the approach to the big log ride. Metro had put all there number tags on structures last year sometime. I was gonna rebuild that structure that was broken recently. Crying shame.
