Thanks for the advice on TD Insurance. Saved $700 over Westland Insurance in Sechelt. $6000 coverage on bikes which is enough for me as I'm not a bike baller. Everything else was at least as good as the other local insurers with most things having significantly better coverage.

Thanks for all the insight! I need to call and confirm but for the TD Insurance mentioned above we would already be saving $700 over local. That's insane/awesome. That includes earthquake coverage but not sure of the bike coverage as I need to call in. I'm a one bike kind of guy so if the coverage is decent I don't see how we wouldn't go with them assuming they don't lob any other curve balls at us. 

My wife and I are both BCIT alumni so I'm not sure how that played into the quote. Either way, thanks for the info. I'll report back with the final quote and some of the coverage details.

Ours is up soon and feel like we're being gouged by a local company here in Sechelt. Basically covers bike value for the cost of my rear wheel. 

Detached house, 2400 square feet, basic family home, earthquake, and we're being quoted $1700 and that doesn't offer much in the way of coverage for theft etc. 

Any suggestions?

It looks like we'll be biting the bullet on one of the Spawn's. Holy crapballs they're pricy. I BMX'd for years and never had a bike that expensive. My son rides almost daily and can hopefully pass it down to a future brother or sister so I can somewhat justify it.

Anyone have any suggestions on what 12" pedal bike with a handbrake to get for my son? I want to get him something of decent quality as he'll be using it for a while and then be handing it down to his sibling. Any local shops carry anything solid? 

The Cleary Gecko has my attention but I can't seem to find any in Canada.

Ordered a Troy Lee A1 Reflex and some clear lens riding glasses a week ago today and I just received them this morning. Unreal. CRC never disappoints for me. If anyone is looking for a new all mountain lid CRC currently has the A1's on closeout for $100. When I ordered mine they had every colour available too. Oh, and shipping was free and I paid $0 taxes. Fist pump.

I just grabbed this Evoc 10cc off of eBay for $89. Shipped free and is in Canada. Not many left but based on reviews it seems like a solid pack. I'll be using mine on both the MTB and Moto.

Persephone has been such a great thing for the Coast. Such a great place to go at anytime of year with friends and family. Letter sent.

My order of TLD shorts came in on Monday. 11 business days and I had to pay $17 in fees. Again, happily paid, and will continue to in order to get the killer deals.

It's sexy AF and that's all that matters :)
