The NSMB Random GIF Thread! (NSFW)

This thread should be SFW. If you feel the need to post sexually suggestive images, do so on a pornography website or in the boobs thread.

The NSMB Random GIF Thread! (NSFW)

Ermmm - not sure I agree with you there.

You are saying that an image of a half naked woman has a sexual connotation but that an image of a half naked man doesn't?

That seems like a rather sexist attitude to me.

For example:

![](sexually suggestive image of woman)

must have sexual connotation - its a wominz!

But this:

![](sexually suggestive image of man)

Obviously doesn't, because its a man.

Both gifs display people doing normal, everyday things. However, your purported position is that the image of the woman is porn. And a sexual obscenity.

I guess you don't go to the beach ever.

Both of those pictures are sexually suggestive and do not belong in this thread.

NOW NSFW - Closing the open letter thread?

Thanks for the feedback.

We are looking at a few ways to tighten things up. For now please let us know if there are any nsfw images in threads that are not labelled as such. We'll respond as quickly as we are able. We are also planning to reset Rep Power and change the structure there so it doesn't get out of control.

Further, if you have a nsfw image in your signature, or any advertising, please remove those or we will remove them for you. Please feel free to send us a private message or to report a post that has an avatar or signature that you feel is inappropriate.

This was the response I was hoping for when I originally started the "open letter" thread. It's nice to know that some action will be taken in order to clean up NBR and the rest of the forum. Thanks.

School me about clipless DH (ie not flats)

Buy something cheap to start with (Shimano entry level seems to be the most reliable). There's a good chance he'll try them and not like them. Clipless pedals require a lot of commitment and patience.

audi sweetness

I have a Mk1 TT coupe.
I replaced the oil pan last year and had zero engine sludge, 91 octane (minimum- audi suggests 95-98) and synthetic oil since new (over 200k).

Put a few grand into wear and tear parts (suspension components mostly).
Beware of suspension creaks (they can end up being costly).

I have had great reliability with the car (driven it out to BC twice in the last three years).

Lowering springs (Eibach) and wheel spacers (ECS tuning) to be installed next week I hope.

Care to elaborate on the suspension creaks?

There is the admins opinion, straight up. If we need to reel it in, im sure we will be told, via direct response or the report post button. Im sure people get banned here from time to time still. I know the mods pull threads that cross the line they have established, so i refuse to think they are totally asleep at the wheel. To me, your complaint implied this.
Carrot top:

Firstly you are offended. I apologize. I have never been told i offended any one yet but every one is entitled to opinions. I may have and you are the first to voice it. Fair enough. I apologize to all.

Although you are the one who is in control of what you look at at work. It seems like you got caught in a compromising situation at work and you want protection from that. Well there is a ton of tools that this site has to disable avatars, images, signatures. Ignore list, is the ultimate. Or, while you are at work pick you threads accordingly. I do. And my sites. I dont visit break or chive at work. Ignore me, or at least do it WHILE YOU ARE AT WORK. i am sure you know what threads to avoid.

You are the one who is in control of all of this. Choose the sites you look at at work, choose your filters, choose who to ignore. If you need to revisit it, or want to, dont do it at work.
It is like buying a sports car, then complaining to the manufacturer that it had too much power after you crashed it. No accountability at all.

It is the intwebs after all.

Thanks for the apology, This thread had nothing to do with any work situation, I'm simply fed up with seemingly the majority of threads containing indecent pictures of women. Couch Surfer's comment sums it up pretty well.

Yeah - gonna have to go ahead and call bullshit on this.

Do you really think that when you're clicking on a thread about the new ferrari that you should be worried that you'll scroll down to see some naked chick bent over a datsun?

It doesn't seem that unreasonable to want to surf NBR threads in a mountain biking site from work. Frankly, the dogpile on this guy is ridiculous.

Hey Carrot. Thanks for sharing your opinion. We appreciate opinions so keep having them. That takes some guts around here.

I'm sorry you are unhappy with where we have drawn our line. Unfortunately that's where we've drawn it and you would put yours in a different place. I'm also sorry if your distaste for what you have seen has impaired your enjoyment of the rest of the site. At this point I see no need to tighten the rules because everyone follows them without much fuss.

I also would like to say that I agree with Kperras. NSFW should be applied more consistently. It helps some folks find the content they are looking for and it helps others avoid content they'd rather not see or hope to save for later. Everyone wins.

Thanks for tuning in.

Thanks for the reply, I agree that it would be great for at a minimum to have better warning for NSFW and to ensure NSFW material is not in people's avatar or signature where it ends up being displayed every time they post regardless of the thread.

Out of curiosity, would you be fine with the language in the rules being changed, if the content of the forum didn't? I don't really understand what changing the language of the rules would accomplish. Would you not find said content obscene or pornografic anymore if the rules said it was okay?

Some people's cheesecake images are other people's porn. Perhaps your defenition of obscene or pornografic isn't the same as the site admins?

I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm genuinely curious. There are definitely threads I avoid reading at work.

I am mainly just wanting a response from the admins as to why the rules are so loosely enforced. If the rules are not going to be enforced or my interpretation of them is not the same as theirs, then perhaps the rules or the wording of the rules should be changed.

I can sympathize with both sides.

why don't we agree to keep it to the boobz thread and ban awrie?

Why not change your avatar? Every time you or C.Lee post in any thread I have to see a ring of naked women or a woman in a blue bikini.

 So you neg rep me for telling you to suck it up, but I get pos rep earlier for a hot girl and a hula hoop? I guess this means that this thread needs more hot girls with hula hoops to calm you down!

Well, if you're that concerned about it go to the mods and have them decide. No one is forcing you to be here. Oh and no one is forcing you to be a hypocrite, seems like you took that path on your own.

An open letter to nsmb.com

Over the past few years I have noticed an increase in obscene/pornographic material throughout the forum; whether it be in the "Random picture" thread, "Boobs" thread, "reps" thread or in avatars and/or signatures. These pictures/gifs/videos are in direct violation with the Terms of Use and Rules for the NSMB Bulletin Boards.
Why is it that these rules are not being enforced? If the nsmb.com administrators feel that this type of content belongs on the website, then the Terms of use and Rules should be changed accordingly. However, if this is not the case, then more needs to be done to ensure the rules are enforced. After all, this is supposed to be a mountain bike website, not a pornography website.

And none of my posts in the reps thread violated the terms of use.

so all those posts you put in "The Official NBR member insult and slutty ladies for repz thread" was okay, but now, NOW you've decided it's time for action. hypocrites suck (all kinds) of ballz

I am fed up with the inappropriate imagery on this website. Just because I remained silent in the "repz" thread, didn't mean I agreed with it. Any post on nsmb.com that violates the terms of use should be deleted. No exceptions.

One thread out of many, in the NBR forum. Suck it up or go hang out at MTBR.

I shouldn't have to "suck it up". The posts in question are a direct violation of the terms of use of nsmb.com. The rules have been loosely enforced up to this point and it's time for some action to take place.

General Rules
As with everything in life, there are certain rules in place that help to keep this place friendly and running smoothly. In general, if you are civilized and treat others with respect, you will be ok.

This means that you can post anything that you would like (within reason), as long as it doesn’t contain the following things:

1.Pornographic or obscene images and text.
2.Excessive or inappropriate language/profanity.
3.Racist images or text.
4.Homophobic images or text.
5.Serious threats of physical violence or mental duress.
6.Images or text that could be construed as sexual harassment.
7.Specific directions to trails.
8.Solicitation of goods or services outside the specific “For Sale” forums unless approved by a moderator.
