Good read for 6am as I sit here at work staring at my coffee with sore legs also. I never thought I'd say this but climbing has become fun for me. I'm noticing a polarization within my riding group, those that suffer just to get to the down trails and those that want to keep climbing because the down trail isn't high enough, I fall into this group. Fitness is fun once you're fit I suppose.

Keep doing what you're doing which is trying to stay sane. I've broken my leg twice now (Tib/fib) and the hardest part was being alone. Sure friends and family stop by etc but for me there was the constant reminder of how isolated I was for an indefinite amount of time. I totally feel you with x-rays not showing any healing, that is the absolute worst part, it's like being trapped in your own body.

I guess my point is that you will get better and you'll appreciate being healthy a shit ton more. It's been a few years for me and I still can't run BUT I can ride, and that's all that matters. Keep spinning, put in the miles, don't put yourself in a situation in which you look back and wish you would have done more. Even though it seems like it's taking forever your body is doing its best to heal.

Nice bike but it's scary that $7000 is normal for a top end bicycle.

Strava is not at all accurate anyway. I've blasted lots of runs and my times were slower than the slowest guy in the group. It always works perfect when I get KOM though, there's no debate lol.

Sick bike except there's none left anywhere! As far as I know Velocity has a medium 790 and that's it. I imagine there's some smalls and larges kicking around at some shops. Seems to be a popular bike, I like.

I've got a great solution. Just get 2 wedge plates made that are cut to whatever angle the difference is between your bike and say 71degrees. Weld those on the seattube and then weld your other post to the 71 degree face. This would enable the use of a reverb if you made it right and it would look alot better. Other than that great job! I love old bikes

How come a chinese made V10 costs $14k but the original Sapa V10s were like what…6k? I can't remember but I sure as hell know it wasnt 14k. Also with products being sold in these price ranges why are industry jobs generally still shit pay?

Does sealant ever actually work? Aside from helping seat my tire I always wind up using a tube to get me home if I do flat.

Things I've noticed:
-no Affliction wearing gangbangers anymore. Is drug dealing now passe with the new generation
-the lightest bike buildoff peaked my interest on here (remember that dude with rhe sub 30 pound aluminum session?) and now its gone. Carbon parts have taken the fun out of tinkering imo.
-Facebook does suck now, all political
-Anyone can be famous with a decent Instagram account and some extra money to buy followers.
-People are rejecting technology (3D Television anyone?). Also Nokia is re-releasing their old 5530 or whatever its called due to demand.

I love my MT5s on my 29er. I weigh 230 pounds right now and they just work. No pumpup, no fading, consistent lever feel. I almost hate talking up these brakes because I feel like I have an advantage and don't want anyone else running them lol.
