I've been wearing a Gore Fusion Tool jacket the last couple of seasons. Doesn't pack down that small, but in only wear it when it's cold and I know I'm going to use it. Windstopper fabric is awesome, sheds heat well with pit zips open and breathes very well when you want to keep the heat in but shed moisture from sweat. Has been the best riding jacket I've owned.
I've bought several sets of wheels and tires through them. Over the years they've really improved how their shipments get handled at the border too, so you don't get screwed on brokerage.
Some tires have comparable prices in Canada, but not many. Have yet to see a wheel come in cheaper to Canada.
Also - do not buy mortgage insurance, it is hella expensive when sold attached to a mortgage. Just buy a separate life insurance policy.
Great point. Mortgage insurance pays to the mortgage first. A separate life insurance policy gives the flexibility to pay however the beneficiary chooses.
Are you just after the lowest rate? Some mortgages limit options you have for annual lump-sum payments, increasing payment amounts or frequency, having a LOC attached to the mortgage etc. Make sure you get a mortgage with the right options (if you need them or can take advantage of them).
All I seem to hear is the teachers saying they want smaller class sizes and more support for special needs. Then it always boils down to they want a pay raise. The two statements don't equate for me.
The part I'd really like to understand is how the school districts are managed (or not). Seems some school districts do OK and others suffer. Is it due to changes in the number of kids per district? Is funding based on that and that alone?
In the end, both sides act like school yard bullies and regardless of anything they say, neither party is putting the kids' needs first.
Although they don't have a huge online store, Harlings Jewellers might be one to consider and I think they have a store in Victoria. They got their start doing insurance replacement, so they have a lot of experience with custom ring designs and can do ones that look exactly like a major manufacturer.
When I decided 2 weeks before a trip to Mexico that I was going to propose I was in a panic for a ring. A friend recommended them. I went downtown on a Friday afternoon. They were almost closing, but brought me in, offered me a beverage and walked through different designs. Then let me choose the diamond. Everything was done within a week and much cheaper than anywhere else for the quality of product I received.
Not sure if they still do the same business. It's been a while since I've been a free man. But might be worth looking into.
