@Brock - technique??? I don't have any technique. I've got a decades worth of skateboarding injuries and another decade worth of mountain bike injuries along with deformed feet that require orthotics to contend with… I run like a water buffalo :)

I think I pinched a nerve too. I was camping a couple weeks ago and one morning my right leg from my butt down just went numb and I couldn't bear wait. It was like that for 20 minutes and then all of a sudden I could walk again. Things felt fine so I went for a 13k run and have done a few longer runs since then but now my right hip is kind of sore. Not sure what's going on - I chalk it up to turning 41. Aging sucks.

So I went ahead and joined my first run clinic… My second class is tonight, the first class went well. We did some speedwork/repeats, which was fun. We ended up doing much more distance than I thought we would have - which is great. It's always nice when a run doesn't feel as difficult or as long as it turns out to be. Hope to run in the Victoria half-marathon in October… I'll hopefully stay healthy enough [HTML_REMOVED] injury free so I can try and complete a marathon in 2017.

This is true of many, many athletes - male and female - who reach the elite level of sports. Are you suggesting that there is something wrong with "girls" who sacrifice and push the limits in the pursuit of excellence?

You could make an even more compelling statement that many popular sports do even more damage by destroying the athlete's minds (football, hockey, boxing, MMA, pro wrestling etc) along with their bodies.

It's not about male/female. As PaulB mentioned above, I believe the current theory is that the combination of training intensity and duration (often starting at age 4 or 5) wreaks havoc on the bodies "normal" development. Most other sports and Athletes don't begin training with the consistency and intensity of Olympic gymnasts until after they have either started or sometimes even finished puberty.

I know here in Canada we take our hockey seriously and the kids start playing really young - but their not "training" the way gymnasts apparently are.

In my experience, going to the Residential Tenancy Board is a bit like fighting a speeding ticket. The odds are not in your favor. In fact, they are pretty heavily weighted against you. Good luck though. Sounds like your landlord is a douchenugget.

Really? Having been both a tenant and a landlord I am pretty convinced it's called the "Residential Tenancy Board" because, you know, they're primarily interested in protecting the rights of the Tenant and couldn't give a rat's ass about protecting the landlord.

If you don't believe it try going through the process required to collect the rent you are contractually owed if the tenant does not, or cannot pay.

Having heard stories about all the terrible slum lords and "renovictions" that take place I can see why Tenants need to be afforded protection for their basic rights.

But even when there is clear [HTML_REMOVED] obvious evidence that the Tenant has violated the contract, a landlord should expect next to no help from the RTB - other than being able to download and use their notice to end tenancy forms for free!
