Fromme parking debated by DNV

Why would the DNV be pushing for more parking for mountain bikers? There is lots of parking in Lynn Valley - an ample amount south of Coleman and tons of it closer to LV Road

Good question and comments. I'm not sure allocating $450K to parking is the best use of funds when there's lots of parking in the area. Wouldn't the funds be better spent on the trails?

You'd also figure the merchants of Lynn Valley Mall would love to have mountain bikers park there to get some of the spinoff. As a comparison, the Parkgate lot is full of bikers on weekends and I can only assume that the merchants love it.

Fromme Wish List

I don't have time to read this whole thread…has anyone suggested bringing 38DD back to life in some form? It could be a great tie into Bobsled.

winter xc/am tire options

I ran a Conti Mtn King 2.4 on the front and a Kenda Small Block 8 on the back all last winter with very good results. I tried a Mtn King 2.2 on the rear but had pinch flat problems so I switched to the Small Block. For a more xc feel I put the Mtn King 2.2 on the front and continued to run the Small Block on the rear which felt very good.

Lower Griffin log ride wrecked

I liked that skinny but I won't miss it. That area is a full on ugly mess right now.

Fromme conditions?

it get's so dark so early

It felt particularly dark today. We rode at 10am and were in and out of the clouds all day. Probably best to take along a small light in case of an unforseen mechanical.

Fromme conditions?

Rode 7th/Leopard/Krinkum/Kirkford/Nat High today. Hit some snow on the road at Upper Oil Can but it was easy climbing in vehicle tracks. 7th had really minor snow at the very top and was very wet in sections, but for the most part it was in good shape. There were a couple of small trees down, with one right over the log ride. Leopard was in great shape; Krinkum was good other than a couple of rocks on a couple of switch backs being dislodged. Kirkford was fine but there was a lot of water eroding a couple of corners after the steeps at the top. Natural High rode as well as ever. I actually like that trail better when it's wet because of the extra character it gives the trail and woodwork. It's so bomb proof and so fun! Thanks Knnn and Ducati for putting a smile on my face 100's of times.

Having seen this...I have one more tool in my visualization arsenal...

I remember reading a story on this site about that line last year.

I love this sequence:

Tree Down at Camp Brick

Before the BP…I believe it's even before the "elevated" wood work.
