Cougar Spotted in Squamish -- Trail Closures

We were up there on Sunday too, riding Value Added. We rolled right past a Conservation Officer's truck on Mashiter trail, and I wondered about cougars for a moment… then carried on our merry way. Its creepy to think of what might be eyeing you up as dinner as you're riding along obliviously!

Shame about the closures, as the trails are in fantastic shape!!!

Conditions in Victoria

We're coming over to the island to visit family this weekend [HTML_REMOVED] wondering about conditions at the Dump or elsewhere around Victoria? Lots of snow here in Squamish, so we are itching for a bike ride!

Ardoom.

ARDUUM!!!

Know your limits people, you can't race with broken bones.

True dat.

Actually, you can't ride at all for 8-12 weeks. You can't even drive your standard transmission car out to Mission to cheer for your friends that can still ride. You can only cruise the nsmb boards feeling sorry for yourself! :hurt:

Have a great race everyone, I'll be cheering from a distance!

looking for training partners and carpools for 2010

Where to find info on NWC - presumably this is a series thats replacing the Fluiride races that were in PA last year? Those are supposed to be some super fun races!

Vuke, I'm pretty sure the Gearjammer is not on a Friday - its always been on the weekend in the past, so most likely a typo.

Stephen Wilde interview = cool

Stephen Wilde = cool.

We were lucky to meet Stephen on a bike trip to Peru. Not only is he a great guy [HTML_REMOVED] lots of fun to hang out with, but he gave us an unbelievable photo-documentation of our trip!

Squamish - cougar attack updates

Hope it's not too serious, but a heli ride to Vancouver suggests otherwise.

I don't see any mention of a heli-ride to Vancouver? The article (for what its worth! The CBC's news reporting seriously going downhill over the past few years) mentions that she was treated in the local hospital.
However, a lot of smaller hospitals (Squamish included) have limited imaging modalities (ex no CT scanner etc) and patients need transfer for diagnostics. A transfer doesn't necessarily mean something ominious is happening.

The Four Jacks - Whistler

This event sounds fantastic! I've got a Tyax trip on that weekend, otherwise I'd give it a go! I've been harbouring a little dream of going to Downieville some time, but now I don't have to travel so far for a great all-mt challenge. This is what my nomad was built for! Hope everyone has a great time [HTML_REMOVED] we see this race again next year.

Cougar sightings on Squamish trails

She's a long way from the Grizz. Wow.

Probably took a wrong turn on stumbling out of the Cliffeside.
