Rock Shox tuning guide fro Pike RC and Monarch RC3 Debonair

Thanks for the responses. I just bought a new Giant Trance SX size large. I'm 185 lbs and all of my riding is North Shore. So if anyone has the settings dialed I would be much appreciated. (oh and i never thought to read the fork leg…)

If anyone has any other ideas on things to improve on the bike I would be interested. In particular I`m thinking of changing the tires (schwalbes came with it) and that some sort of lower guide or bash guard would be a good addition.

Rock Shox tuning guide fro Pike RC and Monarch RC3 Debonair

I've been on the website and looked at the user and service manuals, but they do not seem to have recommended settings based on rider weight. Where would I find these (yes I've been googling to no avail)?
Thanks!

My poor dog

My dog listens ever since she got catapulted off the teeter on Pipeline.

Now she always stays behind [HTML_REMOVED] tries to keep off the woodwork.

She usually responds to HEEL.

Demo 8 shock mount position

I have a 2006 demo 8 which has an A and B setting for the frame geometry. Where do most people set the shock position? I have mine set on low which gives a lower bottom bracket [HTML_REMOVED] slacker fork. i haven't tried the other setting yet.

Demo 8 build questions

I bought a 2006 Demo 8 frame with fox 5 shock off the NSMB buy [HTML_REMOVED] sell with the intention of swapping all my old bullit parts over, but that's no fun… I want to spend more money!

I plan to keep my 888 , magura brakes, sram shifting, rims and rubber.

I want to replace the following:

- cranks as well as a different dewlie type chainguide.

- seatpost, not sure if it needs to be telescoping?

- handlebar

Any suggestions about what to get? Also which north van shop would be good for the build?

Thanks.

Hiring a nanny....any tips or personal experince.

Good luck with the nanny search, I hope your experience is better than ours. We hired three nannies and had bad experiences. We tried interviewing and hiring privately and settled on a very nice younger woman. She ended up quitting week before she was supposed to start. In a panic we went to an agency and ended up with an older Fillipina. She did a nice job of cleaning the house but was not good with the kids. We fired her after she admitted to hitting our 2 year old son. Our last nanny worked for a while but we were never comfortable with her harsh manner. She disciplined with threats and name calling which we talked to her about but she never really changed, so we fired her too.

In our experience it was really hard to find a nanny that met our expectations. And part of the problem might have been high expectations coupled with some guilt about leaving the kids to go work. In the end my wife took a leave from work.

Good 24" kids bike for shore riding

I'm looking for a new bike for my 10 year old. He's really enjoying the trails on fromme.

- Something with 24" wheels

- front suspension is fine but dual would be cool.

Anyone have any suggestions for models in the $600 range?

I'm open to getting something used if anyone has something decent.

Thanks.

TDF, what a joke...

Floyd was clean, just ask his mom…

Landis tells mother doping test "irregular"
WASHINGTON, July 27 (Reuters) - The mother of Tour de France cycling champion Floyd Landis said that he questioned his positive result on a doping test as "irregular" on Thursday and was discouraged by media coverage of the revelation.
"He talked to me in a lot of discouragement because of the media press that he's getting. But the fact is that there's nothing proven that anything is wrong with his test," Arlene Landis said after being in contact with her son.
She did not give his location. Landis pulled out of races in northern Europe in the last two days without giving any explanation and organizers of those events were unable to contact him.
"He said this test is so irregular and there's no reason why it wouldn't have shown up on other days he was riding if that was a fact," his mother said.
She was speaking to reporters outside her home in Farmersville, Pennsylvania, where the 30-year-old cyclist was born in a community of Mennonite Christians. TV video of her remarks was made available in Washington.
Landis's Phonak cycling team said on Thursday he had tested positive for the male sex hormone testosterone in a test after his remarkable comeback last week in the 17th stage of this year's tour, which ended on Sunday.
If a second "B" sample confirms the result of the earlier sample, Landis is certain to be stripped of his victory.
"I'm not concerned. I think God is allowing us to go through this so that Floyd's glory is even greater," Arlene Landis said.

Floyd Landis fails drug test.

If proved true, this is very disappointing. Watching the Tour this year was very exciting and I thought we were seeing something special. Seeing guys make amazing comebacks or completely bonk to me it seemed more human and that the drugs were gone. Sadly wrong.
