One upside of the delayed XTR M9100 cranks, we get a new lighter crankset that uses the old pinch bolt non drive side interface, but still fits the new direct mount chainrings.

As someone who hates the fact that you need a bloody big torque wrench to get most cranks on and off nowadays, this is a big plus for me.

But the main reason I am on Shimano right now is because you can install & remove the cranks with regular Allen keys, with no need to torque the crap out of a crank bolt. Seems to be changing with the new XTR though...😢

Haven't tried the ME7's but the M200's have been great, and if you run shimano pedals then their shoes definitely work better than any others I've tried.

Still loving my fatty. Switched to Hugo rims so I could run tubeless reliably, and keep thinking I'll get around to putting some 27.5+ wheels on there but it's so much fun as is that I haven't got round to it.

Recently got the Ecobee 3 lite, and so far have been very happy.

Picked that over the Nest as it seems that it gives a little more control over various thresholds etc. My system is a little more complicated than the OP's as I have a heat pump with a gas furnace as auxiliary heat and the Ecobee lets me set how long the heat pump will run for before calling for the furnace as well as a load of other settings.

For a single heat source a standard thermostat should be fine though.

Just finished removing and remounting a set of SRAM X9 cranks and I am always annoyed by the amount of torque that is needed to remove and tighten the crank bolts.

Shimano's hand tightened pre-load and pinch bolts seems like such a better system that I am always amazed no one else uses it, or is it under patent?

So does anyone know of a 100mm fat bike crank that does not require 45+Nm of torque to mount?

Sounds like a great idea, as long as you can wash it off your bike afterwards.
