Helicopter all day?

Anyone know why a helicopter has been flying around Capilano River / Edgemont / Grousse Mtn are all afternoon today?

Usually has something to do with an NSR rescue, police incident or forest fire (as of late). I live in Pemberton Heights, and I can still hear it circling above the highway.

When is the next fiver? I checked the website but it's been down for the last while.

It is planned for this Thursday.

Hopefully, between the current status of the parking lot and the forest fire danger, all goes according to plan!

Glad to hear people like this course.

FYI for anyone that isn't going to pre-ride there are a couple new updates on Pingu.

The landing of the first drop finally got a transition and further down a bridge that can be tabled was added.

First drop looks great, but make sure to go slow…

Bonus time for pedalling up from mushroom to Corkscrew.

I think you need to be Hans Rey to clean some of those steep up's.

Pingu has seen some nice work leading up to our race. A word of caution - the wooden drop near the top has gotten a new landing, but the transition is really short. It's probably faster to hit the drop than go around, but I am planning to roll it SLOW. At speed, it would be a flat landing.

shirk - can you confirm that we are indeed riding Incline and not Salvation after Corkscrew?

Yeah, the new drop is quite short.

And I think we are riding Incline (right junction) after Corkscrew. It definitely gets a little spicy in the open section before the powerlines!

Tattoos/where to go?

I don't have any tattoos, but Nomi Chi is pretty awesome. Gastown Tattoo, close to downtown.https://www.facebook.com/pages/Nomi-Chi-draws-pictures/46350517665?fref=ts

Agreed, long stages seem to favor the young and childless. I propose a 3 x dadbod sprint, stages equal length with a compulsory beer chug between.

Beer crits were a thing, and should still be a thing

I have also heard some things, and am stocking up on polydent accordingly.

Anyone heard of a way to install a rear shock on a hardtail. I may need one…

The big question is; what is Shirk scheming for this week? I too enjoyed last weeks course, a good mix of different trails. Weeee FUN! Keep up the good work Shirk.

I've heard some things, and those things are less pedally. More DH.

My favourite course of the year so far.

Mine too. That first stage was a burner! The 2nd a quick fast rip. And the 3rd was way more fun than I thought.

Mass start.

LOST: Black Arm Warmers on Seymour

We did a pedal lap on Seymour last night, and a friend lost his black arm warmers. Rather than writing a novel, we rode almost every trail on lower Seymour (below BP).

If anyone finds them, msg me. I'll buy ya a beer!

a single stage top to bottom would be pretty cool, actually. cbc (no idea what condition that's in currently) - tnt - dales - forever after - bridal - blair. a proper leg burner. make it happen!

Last year, the last stage of the last toonie was Executioner to Dreamweaver full. That was a burner!

Awesome race yesterday. Definitely want to see a pic of me almost dying on the severed chute!
