I got sick for ten days during the cold weather. So did my baby girl, and then after that the husband got sick - and his turned into pneumonia. The past two weeks or so have been a complete write-off. And my so-called training hasn't exactly gone well up until now. Meh.
ADS [HTML_REMOVED] I used to ride together regularly, but since having our daughter last summer we've only managed it once. We try to trade off babykeeping duties with riding. I'm sure if we planned it better we could get out together, but we haven't done much riding at all this winter.
Some Muddbunny convinced me to join her team… ;)
I'll be walking in the Sun Run with the baby strapped to my back (or in the stroller, but considering how much she hates the stroller I'd likely just have to put her in the sling anyway, and then I'd be pushing an empty stroller.) My training so far mostly consists of 4km walks with her in the sling, down Lonsdale and then back up. I think I need to do a little more though - I'm only doing that distance once or twice a week right now.
It needs more starfish decorations.
You're probably right. STARFISH RULE!
If I were an engineer I could probably figure out how to make a bike lift that would bring the bike to the top of the hill and roll it off at a starting line or something… just like the WBP - bikes on one lift, sackpeople on the lift behind. Hmm. Do we know any engineers, ADS?
We paid 60$ for it (plus taxes, naturally) at EB Games.
I sketched out the trail on paper today - I'll be working on the in-game design of it for the next while, and ADS will be working the kinks out of the bike design. If it goes well, maybe we'll make a series of them.
I love the look of the jersey. great job!
Lyra seemed to have a great time hiking up and down the trail with me, even if she did sleep nearly the entire time…
I'll work on sorting [HTML_REMOVED] editing the photos and post them when I can. It was nice to be out on the mountain.
Adam has to work that day. I could come out, but I'm not likely to be all that useful since I'll be carrying the baby around. I could take some photos.
Thanks all! We're all home now and in various states of sleeplessness (to be fair, Lyra definitely gets the most sleep of the three of us.)
Connor: Ultra Magnus was the baby's name in utero. It confused many, many people. Way to catch the reference though! ;)
Looking for something to do this morning I stumbled across an article in the Georgia Straight about a new way to fix mountain bike trails on Fromme. It suggests creating a non-profit society that will raise money to provide a revenue stream for Fromme trails, calling it the "Friends of the North Shore Mountain Society."
I'm just curious where the NSMBA (you know, the registered not-for-profit charity dedicated to the accessibility of trails and support of mountain biking on the North Shore) fits. There's no mention of it in the article.
I'd love to say I'll be out for it, but I know for sure I will actually have a newborn by then. Next time, perhaps.
So many great photos… someone wanna take on a write-up too? ;)
I'm working on it between naps, I swear.
