You should take a look at the Michelin Wild Rock'r Advanced Magic x. I've been running them with Cushcore for the past two months 15psi in the back and 10psi in the front. Two months and I still can't believe how much grip I can get. Also they seem to be indestructaproof.

I really like it! The shitty riders (like us) get to spend the best part of the season waiting for Rock Shox to warranty the garbage product they sold us. Meanwhile the good riders can ride unencumbered on the secret product that actually works without us getting in the way! Good thinking Rock Shox!

Looking back on all the worthless junk I bought from you (including a set of RS 1s in 1990), and all the time I spent waiting for my bike to come back from the shop. It occurs to me that I may have played a very large role in clearing the trails for the many great riders who have come out of the lower mainland in the past 20 years.

I think this might be a good time to mention that every Marzocchi product I have ever purchased has performed well beyond expectation and required absolutely no mid season maintenance. The Fox products I own all seem to be doing well too.

To be clear, over the past 23 years I have spent more money than I care to admit on Rock Shox and Sram Product that should not have been brought to market. The company should be bending over backwards to make amends to all of it's customers by producing high quality reliable components. Instead they chose to insult us.

To be fair if I'm stupid enough to buy their crap I'm probably too stupid to know what quality components feel like. All the same it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. From this point on I will do my best to avoid any Rock Shox or Sram product, and just hope that my reverb lasts until October.

I took my old yellow ones out of my skates and put them in my 5 10s. As bad as hockey skate insoles may be these days, the insoles that 5.10 supplies are a complete joke. I'm super happy with my set up now though.

I've got a set. Red hope pro 2 hubs, dt competition spokes, brass nipples in the back, alloy in the front, DH carbon lay up and, my name in big garish letters on the rims. They are a huge improvement over the roval wheels they replaced. Wide stiff and precise. So far no need to true them. It would have been nice to get offset drilling but I'm really happy with the build they sent me.

Yeah arrows would make a big difference to those of us who don't bother looking at the course maps before racing.
If it isn't too much effort I would like to see times divided into age categories. Now that I'm old as balls.

Over the past year I've used XT and XTR 10 speed with Oneup, Sram 0X1, and xt 11 speed. I generally hate sram stuff but, I have to admit the xo1 system is great. Much better than the 10 speed Shimano. I really have no complaints. Having said that I prefer the new XT for a few reasons. The Shadow derailleur's narrow profile means fewer rock strikes which means fewer bent hangers. The XT shifter feels amazing, the down shift trigger has a great feeling texture on its face and I like the ability to drop two cogs at a time. It has a slightly heavier (more positive) feel than the sram but I could adjust it if I wanted to. The only real advantage of the pricey sram system is that the cog set is much lighter.
I think you can feel pretty safe saving some money and going XT.

Tires can make a really big difference to the way the new bikes handle. Light weight tires make the light bikes feel kind of xc'ish If you still have the stock butcher/slaughter combo I suggest you switch them out to a magic mary front and a minion dhr 2 rear. Then be amazed at how flimsy this bike isn't :)

The only weakness of that bike is the 650 wheels. Go 29 ;)

I ride saints which are basically the same as zees and I love them. I tried the guide brakes on a few of my friends bikes and i was really disappointed by how much effort it took to slow the bike down. They aren't terrible but they aren't in the same league as Saints and Zees. I guess i'm a bit spoiled.

What's the deal with the site?

When is the next fiver? I checked the website but it's been down for the last while.
