South Chilcotins 2014
We spent Canada Day week-end in the Paradise / Relay area. The trails are 100% snow free and in amazing shape for late June….

We rode Taylor to Eldorado to Lick Creek last Saturday June 14. The trails are in mint shape and should be snow free within 2 weeks or so. We cleared Lick of all but 3 very large dead-fall trees….

Cheers Guys…. No worries, I would say it's the most clear I've seen it in 6 years. Giver a go!
We got a lap in on the Shulaps last Saturday. Spent some time clearing some of the bigger deadfall on Brett and as of now there are only 2 or 3 trees down. Good to go!

Canada Day long week-end we put in a three day traverse from Relay Creek and exited out the Little Paradise valley. There is a surprising lack of snow all the way up to 2500m.

The alpine above Tyaughton Lake is quickly becoming snow free. As of last Saturday Ridge-a-Rama was possible. You will encounter 1 - 2 feet of snow on shaded north aspects.

Thanks very much guys….
Thanks guys…. Thanks for the heads up Nick. I've gone through different methods of frame bags and always come back to keeping the bikes free of any gear. We are 90% off trail and need to be able to ride and throw the bikes around. In part 2 you'll see some of the steeper descents. The frame bags are sweet if you remain on trail. The Arc Teryx Arrakis packs we carry are super manageable with the modern gear available.
And yes Klankilla…. the new Range 650B is a serious weapon.
Hi Bryce, for dinners we make our own dehydrated pretty hardy Chili meals. Lunch is pretty much jerkey, nuts and Dried fruit. I've found that 2 nighters is cool to not go the dehydrated route.
Here you go Craig…. Shulaps July 21

Blowdown wasn't too bad….
The Tenquille trail is in great shape as of Sunday if you don't walking through some snow for a couple of hours…. http://patmulrooney.blogspot.ca/2012/06/tenquille-hard-way.html
Hey Paul, when we were there just over a week ago Warner would be a no go. The snow is deep in the trees at 1400 - 1500m. On the south facing open slopes you're good to go.
