Raising money for trail days?

Thanks, I guess this shows my ignorance of how trail days are organized. Is the NSMBA involved in all local trail days? I'll put a little money where my mouth is and put $100 into NSMBA today. Plus I'll look into the FVMBA as well. I was riding SFU the other day and and was impressed with all the work that has been done there.

Cheers, S

Raising money for trail days?

This will sound like a bad AA meeting but here goes…I have been a neglectful rider. I have enjoyed many of the local lower mainland trails for years without participating in a trail day. There are always excuses, like I have three kids and a busy career etc., but they are still excuses. I sincerely appreciate the work done on trails. I'm sure I

Are RockShox rear shocks supposed to have smaller eyelets?

are they the same size as the marzocchi?

No, the marzocchi eyelets are larger - as is all mounting sleeves and hardware.

Thanks Leggatt, James was right I am trying to find the right bushing or sleeve to fit. James if you find out something please let me know.

BossyRossy, were you worried about weakening the eyelet? I was under the same impression of "Kye"- that drilling it out is a bad thing and the best option is to find the right hardware. BTW- how did you like the shock change??

Thanks. Do you know how to get this? I was at the LBS today and we looked through the Rock Shocks and Norco (which now has some rock shox stuff) catalog but to no avail…

I am trying to fit a used Rock Shock Pearl 3.3 (air) on as a replacement/upgrade for a DHX3 (coil) but the eyelets are too small to fit my mounting hardware. Has anyone else faced this problem? I'm not sure if I need custom mounting hardware for the shock or if I need to punch out the eyelet liners??

Thanks!

Bikeroom - the good

are you kidding me there is another guy in this thread that needs a reply a little more, ya the guy who ordered stuff over 6 months ago ya that guy.

I'd be unhappy about waiting 6 months as well, especially if I could not get hold of anyone. Is this you or or you refering to someone else in this thread? The combo of phone calls and emails has worked for me to get an estimate on when the parts would be ready to ship.

p.s. I see you are a UFC fan- don't forget about the "fight night" tonight on spike!

I'm not T but that's ok.

It was myself and T's dad that got those things going for you.
I grab myself another one of the slik fits. I have one of the first generation and the second generation is definetly nicer unit and a lot smoother. they had a couple of the latches break on them..but that was like 3 out of 1500 sold the guy told me. they have reworked these one.
I wrote up a review on my website on them…check it out: http://pedalhounds.com/modules.php?name=News[HTML_REMOVED]file=article[HTML_REMOVED]sid=248[HTML_REMOVED]mode=[HTML_REMOVED]order=0[HTML_REMOVED]thold=0

Thanks. Your review was what actually convinced me to buy the rack. I didn

Yes that was me. Thanks for helping T.

You probably don't want to get too involved but there is some nasty things mentioned in the Shore thread about BR.

Bikeroom - the good

I ordered 2 roof racks from Bikeroom a little over two weeks ago and Dave came out to my work to personally deliver them as he was in my area. I have ordered quite a bit from them in the past and the only delays I have had is when they need to bring in the parts. I've had the same kind of delays at my LBS as well.

You drive an audi, and you couldn't spring for the Yakima's

"couldn't " vs. "didn't want to" :couple:

Slikfit Fat Axel Roof Rack- Cheap and Easy!

My goals were to find a roof rack system that was a good value, could accept a unique bike frame, 20mm axel, and would be easy to use.

I already had a thule roof rack so I was searching for a system to carry two bikes on the roof that would be compatible. I have heard good things about the King Cobras from Yakima but they were a bit pricey, ($500+ for 2 bikes after tax). I came across the Slikfit combo system on the bikeroom.com website. It was $98(cdn) each and included a regular QR adapter and locks. The system clamps and locks down on your front axel and has a standard strap to hold the rear tire on the tray. It seemed to be just what I was looking for, so I ordered up a couple.

What I like about the Slikfit system
- simple to install (5 min or less)
- very study
- looks like it will last a long time

Downside
- you need to remove the front wheel as the system clamps on to your front axel but I am willing to put up with the inconvenience to save $300.

Overall I am very happy with this rack!

66 SL ATA problems

Noel, I couldn't agree more- I think the air forks are great! I am running a Z1 sl and I love it. I did notice a break in period of a few trail hours with my fork.

I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying the fork. Do you still have some sticktion or is it all worked out?

I would love to ride but I well, um, we actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, [HTML_REMOVED] Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time. [-thanks "old school"]
