Re: the future of mtb's

I would really like to see some brand consolidation and prices to go down, now that more or less everyone is selling a variation of the same secret sauce enduro bike.  Fat chance of that ever happening.

And here I was thinking that 5 years from now bike prices will probably have doubled.

Whistler Trails 2019 (not WBP)

Just figured I'd get this started...

Haven't been to Whistler in a few years and it looks like I'll be staying south of Function in Pinecrest Estates for a bit this summer. Any worthwhile trails around there, or is my best bet to hitchhike into Creekside to get things started?

Thanks!

Re: I don’t want an ebike (but I don’t hate them)

Having been exposed to Type-2 fun most of my days for the past 4-years, I'll just go on the record as saying, it's over-rated. Give me my Type-1 fun all day and all night, any day.

I see so many people on tour for the week, or the month, grinding out ridiculous mileage just so that they can say they rode from A-to-B. Just not my jam. But hey, if it gets you from one week to the next, then have at'er. Thanks for posting the article Mark.

Re: E-Bikes- They work!

Why you gotta be asshats? How a person makes their living is their own business. Dude is trying to stoke some enthusiasm for mountain biking. One-wheel, 3-wheel, electric, tandem...I don't care, let's just shred.

Re: World Cup 2018

There was a LOT of beer being showered on everyone. Absolutely no reaction when Croatia scored their second goal. It was a pretty memorable experience.

Re: World Cup 2018

We were downtown Rouen when France advanced to the semis..the whole city went apeshit. Sort of reminded me of Game 7 vs. The Bruins, except not with anarchists. Then for the semi against Belgium, we watched the game with friends and even the non-fans had a great time. We will try and watch from downtown Cherbourg tomorrow and hope for a good final.

Can someone remind me what the typical trails to take friends from out of town are?

Lost Lake for beginners...then???

With extended play every day, that Twilight pass seems like great value.

Gotham that looks super interesting. Does that attached motor pop on and off fairly easily or once attached it generally stays on?

It can be removed pretty easy...we take it off when we fly and then put it back on when we are ready to ride. Or it can be put onto almost any bike with the kickstand plate bracket, or the bottom bracket mount.

We found out about it in Ecuador, but had it shipped to Canada and have been using them since May. I really like how light the entire system is. If/when we are without battery for whatever reason, there is no additional drag, and barely any additional weight...so it's nice. We get 30-50km per battery generally, depending on the terrain.

If you are looking for a motor/battery option that weighs 2.5kg, check out add-e.at

Can be put on just about any bike, and the batteries (that we got) are 160Wh, and safe for air travel.

That's what we use.
