In the early 80s the roughly 10-year old me coveted the DX freewheel on his BMX bike for the sole reason it was chrome-plated and all of the others were black. Chrome-everything was a thing back then. Been in the Shimano camp ever since save for a few dark years.

Seems counter-productive to concentrate people on the lower trails and parking areas.
I'm "the other"
Love Boundary, donation made.
Indeed I've never seen AJ wear gloves. I'm the polar opposite, I bring a 2nd pair in my pack and change mid-ride...
An 11-51 on standard shimano freehub is precisely what many of us want, and it just makes good sense. I’m willing to beg.
Thank you. Appreciate the precise and honest answer. So refreshing.
So.... no comment?
@WAO: I was just about to pull the tigger on some Agent rims, and then I noticed the new Outlier rim, which is said to have a “massive” increase in impact strength. Just how much is “massive”?
I’ve had no bearing issues with RF or Wheels Manufacturing 30mm/PF92. Maybe SRAM was different. Still, I have a hard time believing 1.01mm makes a substantial difference to durability.
Edit: re-reading the article, it sounds like the bearings are the same, it’s just the sealing that was improved, and that’s what the 1.01mm spindle reduction facilitated. The claimed improvements would be more credible if they published some of their lab results.
They did, back on Feb 28.
Good article Andrew, couldn't agree more. Get on it CK.
Ask Fox what they plan to do with the Marzocchi product line
Regarding Metro's plan, sounds like a great topic for an NSMB.com article! Dig out your investigative journalist hat Cam!
I think it would help if the riding community knew what Metro Van's master plan was. I think most of us are in the dark on that. All we see is some long- established (and some newer) Seymour trails being suddenly decommissioned while new machine-built ones are constructed. As the primary users of said trails, and as tax-payers who fund the work, shouldn't we at least be informed, if not consulted?
