I think you should approach the gym with goals in mind, which are easier to make if you know how much time you're willing to put in. A decent work out can be done in an hour. For upper body, I do a chest/tricep, bicep/shoulder and back day. So three days per week is decent and this could be made into two days if you have time constraints. This is the best way to achieve results, rather than going to the gym and doing exercises doing random muscle groups. I would also add that if you're doing some technical lifts (ie. deadlifts) and have no experience in this, I would suggest getting some help with it. Doing things wrong in the gym from the start will be hard to correct later and will also open yourself up to injury as you increase weight. If you have any specific questions on routine or whatever, let me know.
LOL, Unless you are very good at it, from what I've read it is a way to loose a TON of $$$.
Find a broker that will let you short the venture exchange. So many momentum plays and pump and dumps, it would be like taking candy from a baby.
Ross, I'm really sorry to hear your latest diagnosis and you're handling it like a champ. I really hope all the treatment works in your favour and you get through this. I truly wish you the best. If you're in Victoria anytime soon, let me know. I don't know what else to say; I'm a little speechless. Hang in there, man. We're all pulling for you!
I'd say that you should consider where you'll be working and decide where you want to live. If you'll be working in the western communities (Sooke, Metchosin, Langford, Colwood, etc.), buying a house in this area is cheap and you get a lot for your money. If you'll be working downtown or surrounding areas, the traffic to and from work every day will kill you unless you're working non-standard 9-5 hours. Also, Langford/Colwood is generally regarded as the redneck areas. But that being said, the entire area has turned itself around in the past 5-10 years with new infrastructure, stores, houses, condos, etc.
My wife and I will be looking in the next couple years to buy a house. We're setting our sites on Gordon Head, Broadmead/Cordova Bay, Brentwood, and Victoria. Those are probably the most reasonably priced areas with the most upside. Schools are good in those areas. You're in between everything. That's where you should probably focus your search.
Well, I guess for a lot of us life is indeed happening.
This. I don't often have the luxury of spending a day out riding anymore. And when I do, I'm too tired and lazy to do it. Wife, house and general life things get in the way of what everyone really wants to do.
