To stay closer to home I've been riding the road and some gravel. I just got a 2020 Brodie Romax Carbon so I'm doing some solo miles around Langley/Fort Langley area where there aren't as many cars. Road is good as I don't need to stop at the top of trailheads where everyone congregates and just keep going. Sucks not being able to get a coffee part way through though (by choice to minimize exposure).
Mudhugger is the best rear fender there is. I got mine from Rick too.
Great article. I just turned 50 this year and I think my join date here was 2002! We were laughing about this on the weekend when we were riding up Old Buck to ride Corkscrew, Pangor, Pingu, the the new Empress Bypass. the last time I rode this was almost 10 years ago and it was great. The bike is now 20lbs lighter and the ride up was great considering back in the day we only ever shuttled Seymour.
Riding for us now is so much more social. We still ride as fast as we can but it's just fun to get out with the same crew over the last 20+ years.
White Line?? Nope!!!
I'm about to slap on a big ass ugly Mudhugger rear fender. Nothing says Off Season like that monstrosity.
Hi I'm Steve.... and I'm a Fatass... I'd love to ride to the trails but unfortunately I'm one of those that use the Fromme parking lot every weekend because I live in Langley. There isn't too much mountain biking out this way. Even the Delta Watershed would be about an hour ride on some pretty treacherous roads.
Where did you get it from?
What about rear fenders? What's everyone using?
Great review. I'd love to try one of these out. Do they have distribution in the GVRD?
No it's just mostly wet here except for this summer when it was damn hot. Wet and glasses depending on the trail sucks. I don't ride fast enough to clear the fogging so I just ride with no glasses. I also have small eyes being an asian guy! LOL.
I made my own out of a black plastic folder. This winter I'll likely put an old T.H.E. downtube fender (in sweet faux carbon fibre) that I've had forever on as well as I seem to take everything in the eye.
Nice bag. I just use a large Rubbermaid container!
I had a 2002 Banshee Scream until last year but that bike was a beast and I ride like a pansy (especially now).
Thanks. Who sells it in the lower mainland?
I know it isn't fashionable but did you try the elbows? I'm trying to find a pair of decent elbow pads for park and janky days.
