Whistler bum?

Does anyone have any ideas on how to last a season there without a work permit?
I definitely want to be in or near the village and I just want to ride my bike as much as possible.

Just sponge off as many people as you can like every other bum in Whistler. Milk the landlord, steal some bikes, hit up the food bank for free food and then hit up your employer for hours you didn't work. Hell, if you play your cards right, you'll be living large and partying every night whilst everyone else picks up your tab. Don't feel bad either, it's the Whistler way…

Seriously though, if you have no cash, stay home! There are way too many bums already lurking about.

Alex Pro resigns from Team Young Guns

Anyone who has ever done stupid shit that made no sense when they were drunk has absolutely no right to judge or even speak of other people causing mindless, senseless drunken havoc. Unless your shit don't stink, edited out by mod - infraction given and let Johnny Law dole out the justice.

Alex Pro resigns from Team Young Guns

Mike Vick just got Nike back 4 yrs after going to prison for running a dog fighting ring and the Whistler Adventure group is still in business after murdering dogs, so I'd say Alex Pro is going to be just fine as soon as people move on the next sensational story.

Whistler to start logging WORCA trails...

They can feel free to come in and clear cut Alpine again. Most folks would be happy. Seems retarded to cut old growth for a mere $30k. Thats like owning an old gold watch handed down over generations and pawning it for a few bucks to buy a case of beer. Goes to show what a bunch of stupid assholes there are running the show.

Richie's Rally....

What's wrong with takin' yer dog down Billy Epic?

Absolutely nothing wrong with that. I do it all the time, but there was some dude in there on saturday holding his dog whilst a bunch of us yahoos were racing through and he didn't look very stoked about it.

Three flank climbs was about all my legs could take. Even though the climbs were not timed, anyone with a good set of lungs had the advantage of not being bagged for the descents. I kept it together really well on Cheap Thrills and then crashed hard on an easy section of Danimal because I was seeing double and not braking!

Richie's Rally....

guys, this is Whistler XC… nobody needs a DH bike! You can ride all of it without pads.

must ride trails please

Simply buy the Finestone/Hodder guidebook from a local bike shop when you get to town and it will tell you everything.

The Whistler Report #6

and for the record, please don't take it personally that I won't divulge the location….I haven't even shown it to some of my closest friends!

Sorry Todd, but since I pretty much handed you guys the Green Monstah on a silver platter, it's only fair for me to divulge the location here in open forum. We can't taunt the masses with our greed now can we!?

The Green Monstah is off that new trail starting up by the Crystal Hut on Blackcomb. Yes, it's finished! Ride up the cat road from Base 2 to Crystal Hut. Long uphill grid, I know, but totally worth it. You can probably shuttle it too if your stealth! Anyway, there's a tree behind the hut with three slashes on it, follow the flagging tape from there and you're solid gold all the way to the valley!

Has the Crankworx Slopestyle lost 'it'

How can an event where the tricks become exponentialy more technical and frequent every year have lost it? I remember when the Giro box was the big feature parked at the GLC and the crowd went insane if someone did a backflip. Now, the Giro box is one of many big features and backflips are a dime a dozen, so if anything, our senses have been dulled by amazing skills.

I think the "bigness" of slopestyle hit the ceiling a couple of years ago with that hudge kokanee drop in the finish and rightfully so; competitors were getting hurt. The course became more focussed on showcasing technical tricks rather than big, scary features. Maybe that makes it a BMX track, but it's no less entertaining.

Attitude

I know it's tough for your cross eyed self to focus on the keyboard long enough to type that post, so I give you mad props.

It is now apparent this thread has derailed, majorly. I have posted my opinions. i will see you up there, feel free to say hello Lee.

Peace, Brah.

Not only do you scream at women and children learning to ride, you also make fun of people with physical disabilities. It must really suck to be you.

Blackcomb is on fire!

One thing to consider is that people spotted the fire right away so they could get tankers on it before it could spread out of control. Some of the more remote fires get out of hand before anyone even notices the fire. The other thing they had going for them is that the wind pushed the fire up hill to the alpine which acted as a fire break because there is no fuel to burn. I'd also like to think the fire service is going to vigorously protect an area where the threat of major structural damage is increased.
