This is where a light system like Exposure has big advantages.   You can piggy-back batteries onto the light during your ride to extend burn time... it works great and the cells are tiny.

And Bontrager just launched a new 2 year no questions asked warranty on their carbon wheels...

I'm really impressed with the Bontrager light program in general... nice review.

VitalMTB had a good article on an alternative format.    Two mandatory lines to ride for each rider.   One is techy and raw and the other builds in some opportunities for tricks.   Best combined score wins.    I am sure its not a perfect system but really could it be any worse than the current format?

OK.... I need to try the kool-aid... there is a pair of these at the shop that I have tried on 3 times and now I need to try them out in the wild... thx buddy... ;-)

Hey Cam.. I downloaded the safety data sheet for Stan's and could not find "ammonia" or "Ammonium hydroxide" listed as an ingredient... it did list propolene glycol which is apparently safe.   Perhaps  there is more information out there?    I have had very little issue with evaporation as you put it...  I have seen it form small balls inside the tire.   And of course spewing sealant on foliage, etc.. is not cool...

Carbon cranks and bars are 2 components on my bikes that I only now trust to aluminum....

Yes.... on my Trek Slash 9.9... working pretty good in the interior with snow/mud right now.. although its only a 2C tire grip is acceptable.

Truth.... 3C Maxx Grip or even Maxx Terra is better than 2C...

And now there are firmware hacks available as well.. no need for hardware:

this would be one of my biggest concerns as well. if a land manager agrees that the restricted ebike in its current form would be acceptable, how does one police all the other fast hardware that has the same form factor? and as ebike tech becomes more refined, battery packs smaller & better integrated (ie, the new turbo levo), differentiating motorized bikes from pedally ones also becomes increasingly difficult. if user conflicts arise, banning all wheeled devices becomes the easier solution.

I use the Exposure Toro on the bars and the Exposure Equinox on the helmet... great combo... nothing like having 4,500 lumens on tap.

Interesting observation about maximum wattage on each pedal stroke?    Did you only ride in Turbo or Boost mode (depending on motor manufacturer)?     If you want a killer workout run the e-bike in Eco mode.... you will be pedaling a circa 2000 freeride bike uphill... the options are up to individual...  I have 2 mountain bikes right now... Pivot Shuttle e-bike and a Trek Slash... I will be honest and say that I am fitter from getting in more e-bike rides this year at higher exertion levels.   When I get back on my regular bike I feel "slower" but my climbing times are faster overall...

They developed a ton of slop rapidly and were taken off the market rather unceremoniously.... I had one and while the premise of the design was great, the execution was not...  Yakima has a new upright rack coming in the spring that I have heard good things about...
