Demo 7 - First Ride

mine is actually painted on. I'm pretty sure Specialized won't be able to custom paint your rig. The color does grow on you.
Words can't really describe how it feels but it is the best bike I've ever ridden. Can't wait till Whistler this weekend.

I'll be looking for you. Any plans on trails ?

I'd think that the cold would harden them. Opposite ?

So when would be the best time to buy tires for riding in the winter ?

I figured the sales were just because it's near end season.

i still prefer the minion st over any michi product…… as long as the minion st isnt a fully cured "on sale for cheap" minion. fresh is best.

What do you mean by fully cured on sale for cheap ?

I've been calling around and most of the shops in Whistler have 20-50% off their tires now. Good or bad ?

Need to call more shops.

$70 seems to be the average price around here.

I'm heading back up to Whistler this wknd.

Bluegroove's on sale for 40% off at Fanatyko .. a pair comes out to $90 with tax.

But I've read/searched that the bluegroove's are not as good as the nevegal's in wet. Is this true ?

I see a few types of Nevegal 's ..

Downhill model w/ Sticky E 60 tpi casing
Downhill model w/ DTC 120tpi casing
FR model w/ Sticky E

I'm guess most of you who are running them are using the DH DTC one ?

Wondering what size … 2.35 front / 2.5 rear or both 2.5's .

What about one of these combo's ..

Michi 16 2.2 front
Michi 24 2.5 rear

or

Nevegal 2.35 front
Nevegal 2.5 rear

So a good toss up between the Nevegal's and the Michi 16's .

I'm guessing price difference is significant between the two.

Is performance difference noticeable ?

..and which would be better for the Nevegal's 2.35 or 2.5 .. and the wire or the folding ?

i suppose its a matter of opinion and choice.

And experience, which is why this would be the best people to ask.

Either way, I'm looking at $80-140 around there for a set of strictly winter, wet tires.

For me, I'd rather pay a few bucks more to keep my bike on that last foot of slippery log rather than going cheap, falling off and hurting myself.

BTW, any good sales on now for tires ?

Has anyone heard/ridden these ?

http://www.nsmb.com/gear/243_tires_03_02.php

.243 's or are they outdated ?

or the Syncros BHT tires .. ?

I exhausted the last few hours searching and reading through the threads. This has been a recycled topic, however no one clear answer.

Which is better for winter Shore riding (wet wet wet !) and please take price, longevity into consideration as well.

1) Front - Kenda Nevegal's
2) Front - Michi 16's
3) Front - Michi 32's
4) Front - Big Earl's
5) Rear - Kenda Nevegal's
6) Rear - Michi 16's
7) Rear - Michi 32's
8) Rear - Big Earl's
9) Front/Rear - High Roller's
10) Front/Rear - or another brand/tire

I would appreciate why you think one of the above is best suited for winter ONLY riding, and not slam the others.

Please no comments like "Kenda's suck" because that doesn't answer much at all.

Wet riding. :)
