I think I am going with a Deuter pack. They are the cheapest price wise for the features you get, and they seem like they are built pretty good.
I looked at the Osprey packs, and they seem a bit too small for what I want, and a bit more than I want to spend right now.
Looked at some Dakine packs too, and they seem WAY overpriced :/
What kind of bladder does everyone recommend?
I am looking to buy a new pack. Looking for some suggestions from personal experience.
I want a pack that I can use for riding, and day trip hikes. So big enough for sweater/shell, food (maybe my DSLR) Lots of pouches inside to separate tools, first aid and stuff. Will probably end up using the same pack for skiing, but im not too concerned about putting my skis ON the pack.
Just kind of want an idea of what is out there. Are the Dakine bags pretty decent ? What about their bladders ?
Camelback ?
What do you use ?
And as far as that accident goes, it doesn't look too bad, looks like the engineer dumped his brake pressure into emergency pretty quick. From that picture the car looks barely damaged.
It's not a car
It was a 3/4 ton pickup
Probably go for a short ride tomorrow. Then I want to swap a few parts around. Going to put my x9 stuff on it.
I want to pick up some new shoes, and I think I am going to pick up a set of crank bro's mallets for it as well.
So far it was pretty sweet though, I can't believe how much lighter it is compared to my Joker.
So I went to the shop earlier this week to give the slayer a ride. It had been sold already.
I talked to the guy with the heckler a bit more. Drove out there today and picked it up :)
What kind of benefits do you mean? Othe than warrenty I suppose.
I am going to take the slayer for a test ride tonight. The heckler is a few hours away, so I have to wait untill the weekend to look at it.

what size are the bikes, and what size are you?
They are both mediums and i am 5'10"
Any input on them ?
Are you all saying no to the slayer because it is too slack to be comfortable while just pedalling around ?
What about the singlepivot on the Heckler, I know my joker has really bad brake jack, im worried that the heckler will be the exact same way.
Anyone actually ridden either of them ?
Thanks!
Dean
I am looking at buying a "new" bike this year. I have a small single speed hardtail, and a Ellsworth joker right now, and neither of them are what I want in a bike.
My girlfriend just got a bike, and pretty much sticks to the bike paths, and wider singletrack stuff so I want something that can ride that, pedal easily and still handle the odd bike park.
As of right now I am between a used 09 Heckler w/ Elka shock for $1700
and a 08 slayer 396 that was a demo bike (that looks brand new) from a local shop. Which was about the same price IIRC
Never rode a heckler before, I am kind of concerned about pob and brake jack though, anyone have an experience with the Heckler, and maybe the Elka shock ?
Thanks
:lastweek:
hahah wtf
I'm no Dub guy, but is it a "cool guy" thing for your lowered dub van or truck to have rusty-dented body panels?
Only if its really old :P

the whole Original paint/patina stuff is cool :P
ps: i was there, and it was hot all weekend . awsome weather, untill monday
buying a pre built truck(or car) is gay.
