can't you take the original quote from the repair company to ICBC and ask about the discrepancy and let their investigators look into it. Or the media. there is something definitely fishy about a quote tripling.

I had a similar incident, except I was the vehicle travelling in the right lane as two cars pulled out from the left lane. They didn't want to wait for the car turning left ahead of them either. Anyway the first panel van that pulled out couldn't pull into the right lane the whole way so the car behind it had to hit the brakes right in front of me as I was going about 50 kmh. wet conditions and little warning resulted in me hitting her pretty good. I phoned ICBC right away even though I thought I was in the wrong as I had rear ended the car. Turns out I was found completely not at fault as the responsibility was on her to make sure the lane she was turning into was clear. The deciding factor was the fact I had been travelling in the right lane for 5 or 6 blocks, and when contacted by ICBC the driver said that she had indeed turned into my lane. When I was on the phone with the adjuster she said that if the other driver even says she had turned into my lane that would be it. Boom. She's at fault. ICBC didn't right off my car and fixed it unfortunately. $4800 of damage on a car that I probably couldn't even sell for $2000 especially now that there is an accident claim against it. Oh well.

Pratts rants about the bike lanes prompted me to email the station and rant myself. He was a douche. glad he's gone.

totally different experience for me at On Top.
Was riding past up lonsdale with my chain constantly skipping. finally stop and look down to see a dead and dying link bent and barely hanging together. spin back down a block to On Top, don't have any money, the mech who was working on another bike, takes a quick look and grabs the bike up into the stand, drops in a link and hands it back. I dig around for whatever change I have and come up with $1 or $2 and he thanked me 'cause it basically covered the cost of the link and I was off on my way for a good ride up Fromme. All within 3 minutes.

a 2010 Specialized bike (Pitch Pro) turned up in our shop with the Maxle Lite in the newer Pike

I thought (customer will never know..) and swapped the Maxles ;)
