Re: Grade III AC Separation - your experience?

Hi Dean.

I'm a little over 3 years in from a grade 3. 63 years young. Did some physio at first but not for too long.

2 years later I tore the rotator cuff, same shoulder. Brutal but currently manageable.

Get some serious aching sometimes but most of the time it's good. Doesn't hinder the riding.

Remember that these ac separations are complete tears of the ligaments and there's no healing from that.

The best thing you can do is keep working on muscle strength in the area.

I was advised that surgery for the ac separation is many times worse than the original injury and outcomes are commonly not positive.

Got the same advice for the rotator cuff and things are working pretty good for the moment.

Good Luck and hope it gets better.

Oh snap, that's a long link. PORCA is the valley's new cycling association. PVTA remains intact.

Ahhhh, thanks!

Pemberton Enduro 2016

Mark your calendar. April 30th. This year all profits will go to the resurrected PORCA. More details as they emerge. I will post here but the Pemberton Enduro FB feed is the best place for info.

So, is Porca the new old name for PVTA?

I used my strap-on today!

I've got two supremely wet rides in on the Mudhugger fenders so far. The rear fender is super sturdy, and fits 29ers just fine. Keeps legs and butt dry, but does still spray your back and top of shorts. Maybe a bit more coverage on a 26" wheel but definitely functional and you don't notice it's there. Front works like the others on the market - keeps spray out of your eyes - but has a bit more moto-style wrap. Another few rides and I'll write them up for the front page.

Morgman. Anyone carrying these around here?

You could go in Hyannis to powerlines, push up the powerlines to AfterDales. It's not that far up….

Now that's a good name!

and besides, Morg, you're a good enough rider that you should be fine regardless, there's nothing do or die on any of the trails that will likely be used….and not only that, but it's gonna be fun no matter what

This.

And also, if anyone wants a taste of Westside trails racing. You could come up the previous weekend for the 20th annual Westside Wheelup!

Shimano BB Advice?

If you want the best lifespan, get a no name ceramic BB from ebay. I've had one for three years and it is still flawless which is about 2 1/2 years longer than anything else I've had such as race face, XT or saint. I now have one on all three of my bikes. I think they are about $60 or $70 so significantly cheaper than brand name ceramics.

Got a link for that?
