Doesn't it contain ammonia Rob? It certainly smells like it does and Stan's suggests that "any trace amount of ammonia in Stan’s sealant will evaporate soon after it is injected into the tire," which doesn't give me too much confidence. Not only is it nasty stuff for foliage and critters, it's what makes the stuff stink. That's two reasons for me. Ammonium hydroxide is corrosive and nasty for skin etc. without even getting started on the impact a spill in the woods may have.

Totally with you Mammal. I have lots of old spokes, and they have always been more than strong enough. On the other hand hangers, especially the good old time ones that are nice and strong, are in short supply.

Interesting theory. When points mean nothing and winning is all it's certainly a different canvas. Nice one! I keep having epiphanies as well. I just had a few about flats vs. clipless, including how it affects suspension set up. 

My bar set up philosophy has always been to set the bars so the grip portion is parallel to the ground.  It sounds like you are close to that now.

The biggest difference in the new Yetis (beside the water bottle!) is reach. The new large is 480.2 while the 5.5 was 442. That's huge and very positive. I also appreciate the shorter seat mast. Some are complaining about the squashed head tube but that's not a big issue for me. I already loved the 5.5 despite its foibles so I'm pretty excited about the SB 150. And whatever else might be just around the corner... said the guy who doesn't know anything.

Haha. Not  so much. More oil volume maybe and better cooling but my DPX2 is not a large air volume shock while it's clearly a piggyback.

I liked the Range a lot. The only proviso would be that it has a slightly forward axle path (apparently - I was told this and felt evidence of it rather than measured it) which the 650b doesn't have which seemed to make big hits a little harsh. I imagine you could tune that out with a volume spacer reduction to make the end stroke a little less linear.

A very solid performing bike all and all - and with Codes it would be a beast.

It's a tough call between trail and enduro if you ask me. I'm personally pretty keen on 29ers with 135 rear and 150 or even 160 up front. Yeti 5.5 and Hightower (non LT) come to mind. That said I had a wicked time last winter on the Tallboy with only 120 front and rear. More versatility, relatively competent on most gnarly Shore lines but occasionally outgunned. A little more fork and a tiny bit more rear travel than that is a very versatile bike.
