This conversation sounds like that 2018 movie "Ready Player One".

Re: Looks like the Coquihalla will be closed for the winter.

A lot of machine operators & drivers making huge coin. Good for them, gotta be shitty working around the clock out there in bad weather. I didn't know paving could be done when it's that cold. This is an incredible feat.

Re: just 4 or 5 pounds

I have cut way down on sugar. Seems once you cut it out, after a while you don't want it as much. The pounds have been falling off.

Re: The Decline of Vancouver.

My cousin & her daughter just bought a house together in Prince Rupert. She said of course the prices there are nothing like here in the Vangroovy area, but they are still stupidly high.

Happy wife. Happy life.

My comeback to my wife when she says that is "Happy spouse, happy house".

I think most people have heard of Murphy's law, but have you ever heard of Cole's law? That's chopped up cabbage.

Re: The Age of the Mk2 Human... [Goofy thoughts while walking around Toronto]...

I have known folks who have no hobbies & no interests outside of their jobs. Really, these folks were devoid of a personality. Some of them worked way past retirement age. That's all they knew. I feel sorry for those people. One guy I worked with was past 65 & would sign for any overtime shift he could get. He'd walk into the shop every morning & head straight for the overtime sign-up sheet to see if there was any to be had. Well he finally had a stroke. He actually wanted to return to work after he recovered, but his family talked him out of it.

Try this demonstration: take a tape measure & pull it out to 80 or 82 inches. That is the average longevity of a Canadian male. Then put your finger on your current age. It may be quite sobering to see how much time has passed in your life & how much time you have remaining. Further to how much time you have left, how much of that time will you be able to do what you want when you want? Will you be healthy enough to do the things you'd like to do? That narrows it down a little to how much time you could really be active as you age.

Well the bottom line is it was quite the show. No one can deny that. Maybe that's what Liberty Media wants.

Re: 2018 F1 thread.

I like Bottas. I think he's a good driver & seems like a really nice guy. He just doesn't have that killer instinct like the top drivers do. The previous race in Saudi Arabia he pipped Ocon at the line for 3rd place. That was a great effort by him, but overall, he should be a lot better driving in the best car. Of course he's not a lousy driver. All the guys racing in Formula 1 are incredibly talented drivers. They have to be or else they would not be there.

Both protests by Mercedes have been rejected. Max confirmed as champion. I look forward to reading the FIA's explanation. Some already calling for Michael Masi to be fired. I ask the question..."What would Charlie Whiting do?"

Kimi was voted driver of the day, even though he had to retire from the race. Shows how much the fans like him.
