Then I come back to my feeling that the major bike companies got a little soft.

Some of them, for sure. But the ones that currently offer online sales at full retail prices are smart. Theyre making huge margins on every online sale, theyre still kinda supporting retailers and distributors, and theyre gradually building distribution systems to handle the inevitable market shift to direct sales.

the ones that arent doing this are losing ground every day to lean hungry companies like yt.

What do you carry to remove tight tubeless and procore Presta valve locknuts?

Its nice to not have a pack on hot summer days

On regular presta stems (tubelss or non) I usually put a little o ring between the knurled lockring and the rim - keeps the lockring snug and it always comes off easy.

Euros/Pounds

A credit card withdrawal would be a cash advance - instant interest charges. Don't do it.

plus foreign transaction fees

Cheap Carbon Fibre?

Sounds promising. I wonder if the new process is any cleaner. I like my cake with icing.

The decline of forums

Sometimes I wish there were more places for decent online discussion of politics - I'd like to get a better understanding of other perspectives - but it always devolves into such crap. I'm a hippy libtard but I suspect that I agree with cons on 90% of the issues and on another 5% we prolly strive for the same outcome In different ways.

Had a great chat with 2 albertans on the chairlift but just when we started to really get somewhere the bar came up. I've tried the same thing on FB with my trump-voting cousin but he replies with obamahate memes. That shit is lame, on both sides.

Fukushima Radiation Now Equal To At Least 50 Chernobyls.

It's both an opportunity and a defensive maneuver: Sunshine-capturing technology has become so cheap, so quickly, that utilities are moving to preserve their core business against competition from household solar panels.

Whats shittier is when they lobby govt for subsidies and tax breaks that help them match the lower costs of solar.

To be fair, the cost of solar doesnt factor in the giant battery that people are using for free. You shouldnt be able to just run your meter backwards and forwards and net out to $0 each month. If you are, thats a smokin deal.

Game changer. $500 and I was a bit too spendy. $167? I'll have one of those for my next winter Tofino surf trip. My wife might even agree to go "camping" again.

Looks like you still need water pressure tho. Itd be cool to have a little pump included so you could pull water from a river/lake/tank

His 1st van is along the lines of how I plan to redo our van , bikes in the van under the bed . One thing I did not see in either of his builds is a shower of some kind , and some kind of toilet .

A plumbed shower/toilet would be nice but what a headache. A solar-heated manual-pump shower using the doors as an enclosure isnt luxury but it works pretty well. Same for a bucket toilet and biodegradable bags.

Back on the bike, a bit rusty

It feels so unfamiliar to feel so unfamiliar with my bike. Cant remember the last time I was off the bike for so long.
