Merry Christmas NSMB

It's one week away.

With all our differences and arguments and everything else it's a good time to realize that we're a very small community with a special bond. I have never known a forum where there can be such heated debates online and then we chill and party together and everything is good.

So Merry Christmas everyone and happy holidays. See you all on the trails in 2010!

Which skis?

so wait you're saying your explosifs/freerides are relatively comparable to a rigid huffy? You have some high standards for an intermediate skier. I ski 179 Public Enemies from 6 years ago and I rip(ish) the whole mountain with them; so I say again, ski what you got - it's more than good enough.

Which skis?

If money is an object ski on what you've got. Unless you're really pushing it (which you won't be skiing with an 8-year-old), all skis will allow you to do the same thing - slide down the hill with your family.

I actually might buy some lululemon

Agreed. Off to the nearest Lululemon store to equip the wife with a full outfit for Fistmas.

If you download music/movies, do you ... *new: post 300 rant*

Read the part of my post where i said that i understand what you're saying.. That you think stealing is stealing. Fine. But there really are two types of stealing. If I steal your bike, you no longer have your bike. If I download your music, you still get to listen to your music. Yes, they may be both morally wrong. But to argue there's no difference, is absurd.

I think it's absurd that you or anyone else thinks there's a good and bad type of stealing.

Sorry tried to go through the whole thread before I replied but I just couldn't do it…

Joe great thread thanks for posting!

hallelujah!!! more cell phone competition

Awesome news!

NAWT!

Canada is the world's 2nd largest country with a tiny population and the current "big 3" have spent the last 20 years covering that enormous landspace with a fairly reliable cell network.

We as consumers have to pay for this infrastructure. That's the way it is.

But now some dumbass companies come in, rent space on existing cell networks, charge $3 less per month than the big 3, and everyone thinks hallelujah finally a company that's got my best interests at heart. %^[HTML_REMOVED]$ that! All that company is doing is capitalizing on someone else's groundwork.

This rant is mostly directed at Virgin and Koodoo and all those other lame-ass companies who seem to think Translink is the only advertising media in this whole province. It does seem like Globalive is implementing its own network. Good on them. I'll be sticking with my provider because now, going on 16 years, I can call in and be properly taken care of.

nsmbA AGM done - a new board in place

I believe an NSMBA subforum would help in every way. There could be a "read-me-first" sticky which would explain the difference between the two entities and direct any uninformed traffic to the NSMBA site for more info. It would grow the NSMBA brand. I see no point in having a forum on the NSMBA website if Cam is offering a dedicated subforum here.

-------------

As far as the meeting and support, I do deeply regret not being able to appear yesterday. Life simply did not allow it. I have "been involved" with the NSMBA at the highest level I could afford since I have moved to BC, and this will not change. Further, I am not involved with the NSMBA as a form of advertising for my business, but because I care about the trails I love and ride.

If anyone is concerned that North Shore Bike Shop may not adequately support the NSMBA, and trails on the Shore in general, please feel free to email us and we can discuss in detail our level of involvement. Thanks!
