Sun Peaks!!!

The Canada course cup IS riding sweet, so yeah. Honestly I love the mountain for myself, but its not a place I would take the fam too again.
Standing in the lift line it seems like biking back ten years ago - nothing but dudes. Go to Silver star and there's girls, kids, you name it.

Your timing was just a wee bit off. The crew I was with on Monday had 3 women riding in it and there was a ton of others. :)

one issue with racing in BC

The thing I love about the NWCup kids is that the kids are included on start sheets and run the full course top to bottom. When we were timing those races talking to the kids and their parents in the start gate was awesome. So much excitement for them.

Cycling BC/World cup in BC 2013/2014

The rumour mill at SunPeaks today was Whistler was asked by UCI to host the weekend before Crankworx, then politics got involved and it isn't happening next year. A Whistlerite I spoke too was half expecting to see it on the calendar as he hadn't heard the final word of the local cycling body involved and the resort. Too bad. :(

NW Cup/ Pro GRT

That looks like the Round 2 list that CCN had before Round 1 even happened. You should see the list now! Wowzers. The reason there are people on there twice is that they registered for Round 1 and 2, this has been rectified and straightened out. It is going to be a spectacular weekend. So stoked!

Port Angeles NW Cup

cat III would be beginner
Cat II not so much
Cat I even less
Pro

Sadly it sounds like they don't have mandatory bump up, but you do need certain results to be allowed to go to a higher class. I think 5 top fives or 3 top 3…or something like that. Seems they will have different courses for Pro/Cat I and Cat II/III

Also, UCI license mandatory for Cat I and Pro. You have to show it at registration. Hope to see some more BC riders at the next one, if you can't make it to Kicking Horse for the Western Open (which is awesome) head down to PA so you can still get your race on!

Race the Ranch

Not that one. There was a crash near the end of Sunday practice. We got to the top ~10:30 or so and there was a course hold. I didn't go look, but we heard through the grapevine that someone had crashed at the jump over the rock pile. Rumour was he had injured his back. My guess was that the paramedics were taking no chances and strapped him to a spineboard as a precaution. We waited patiently and were able to get one more practice run.

In any case, I hope he is doing ok.

Kamloops local posted on FB that his name is Mclean Silverton and he rides for the Cafe. He is in 5 South with compressed vertebrae. Healing vibes your way Mclean!!

Experience Cycle-Maple Ridge

I was told that Chris was wanting to spend more time at home with his family. I, too, wish Chris all the best with whatever he chooses to do in the future. EC Maple Ridge will surely be missed.

Port Angeles Results???

Awesome weekend! Amazing track. Well run - live timing with announcing and a separate computer screen for the spectators. (Thanks Greg [HTML_REMOVED] Denise!) And the cheering/heckling was ridiculously funny! Smiles all weekend long for me!

No problem. D and I were stoked that Scott and Casey asked us back to do timing this year. They put on a GREAT event. The only bummer for us will be the NWCup finals as they are the same weekend as the Western Open so we can't race that one. I encourage all the Cdn racers to try to make the second race in Port Angeles (May 13-15) and show the Americans how we roll. The Dunbar crew always has a presence, C4 made a couple of appearances, Team Karaleen and a couple of privateers were there but we need more. Come see us at the registration bus. Check the schedule www.nwcup.com

It was amazing how smooth the whole event, including shuttles went with a total of 412 racers!

Hey Bryan, didn't you forget something at home? LOL. Rookie!

Full Boar Challenge 2010

Hmm. I've never done the Full Boar, is the DH big bike (Demo8) or little bike (ReignX)?

Good times on both. Big bike is best for some parts, little bike in others. I have used both and still can't decide. Bring the one that is closest to the truck. :)

NON-12 step (religion based) addiction programs in B.C.??

You're going to find that being sympathetic and supporting your brother is only going to take you so far, in the end it becomes another enabling factor. At some point you're going to have to give him some tough love, kick him in the ass and tell him to make a choice. Honestly, that could be the rock bottom that he needs, when his family says "we're done"

If he can't stand the meetings, then just quit cold turkey. If he can't do that then go to the meetings. If he can't do either, then he's made the choice that his addiction is more important than his life and family. There's only one end result of that choice and it's not good.

that's all I have from the nsmb life choices forum

Listen to Dave. He just gave you all the information you need. It took my family to walk away from me to make me get help.

The 'higher power' thing is a way to help a lot of addicts draw on something other then themselves to get through the tough times. Addicts have low self esteem and very little faith in their own ability to recover, this 'higher power' allows the separation needed.

Follow-Cam @ Whistler

I agree. Lock that design up and market it Dean. Great demo video you got there as well, Shaums might want that for his coaching. :)
