they dont have any resources to enforce diddly on backroads.

Exactly. I have a friend who works for this section of government who says the same thing. How can the rules be enforced when they don't have the resources? Isn't there an abundance of out of work park rangers right now? In some areas like the lower mainland it might work, but for the rest of the province maybe not.

Anyone know how well the DHR2 rolls/grips/brakes in loose conditions?

Umm… really good? ;) That's how it was designed.

Yea in loose (ie: Pemby) the Ardent is one of the worst tires you could run.

I think it might be worth the move to WA state just so I can run a dirt bike on the street.

A KDX, what am I insane? (don't answer that)

You can plate a 2 stroke mx bike in Washington state, sans blinkers.

Just imagine putting a plate on your off road bike and hitting up 'legal' trails.

I've looked into the "RUM" bike vs "MC" insurance thing and it seems transport Canada is really cracking down on converted off road bikes for street use. Even 'grandfathering' them once they have already been registered won't work. All those converted off road bikes you see on Craigslist or where ever probably won't be re-registered under a new owner.

To go even further, street legal Husabergs and GasGas' are not actually street legal in Canada because they say "Competition Use" on the badge. I was really looking at getting a GasGas 300 two stroke and plating it but its not going to happen. It has to say "MC" on the badge or it doesn't get a plate.

So it seems we are stuck paying $10k for a KTM or Husky, or being stuck with some pseudo off road Japanese DS bike.

if the mountain biker in you wants to ride a motorbike, get a 2 stroke. APT has a stealth Q silencer on his bike, and you can hardly hear that thing behind you. I can hear my buddy's yz250f from 2 miles away.

Compared to a bike like an XR then yes a 2 stroke will be loud. But compared to a modern high revving 4 stroke there is no comparison. My loud 2 stroke is at 92dbs with a Q Stealth and when I'm out of sight you can't hear me. Most 4 strokes pump out at 96-100db+, then on top of that is how long the sound carries.

2 strokes ride more closely to the way a mountain bike does, if that's what you're looking for.

Here's a decent fsr/light trail duty 4 stroke: http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/nvn/mcd/2650504741.html

Anyone have a reccomendation for tires for greasy clay type spooge?

Oem tire suck balls..super sketchy

Mostly any soft conditions tire with good spacing and more of a paddle-type knob pattern than a typical tire.

Some F@cking Sh!t head took my KDX 220 last night. They cut through multiple locks but there are two heavy duty u-locks that must still be attached to the frame and rear wheel. If you see this bike please let me know and report it to the Coquitlam police.

I just bought the bike two months ago and only had one ride on it before work got really busy. It has a custom, one of kind decal kit on it that is purple and green plaid with a number 10 on the side plate. It has the original purple seat, original exhaust, green handguards, brand new tires (1 fuckin ride on them), custom mounted kickstand.

Oh and- dear thief - I hope you die a horrible death you freaking weak piece of crap.

Fucking horrible.
