racism?? (debate?)

WHen i first moved to victoria I had to go apply for welfare cause i would rather smoke pot and sleep all day than get a job. While waiting in line and looking around at the crackheads and hoboes and people that are jsut working the system and, i thought I am better than this and left. I stopped smoking weed and found a job 2 days later.
Going down to that welfare office and seeing where my future lay was the best thing that ever happened to me.

Structural Engineer???

Build it sick, build it high, build it skinny.

Why build a short fat bridge when you can build a tall skinny one.

Home heating/ ventilation question.

Which means the floor (ceiling in the crawlspace) should be insulated. If it isn't, all the cold air in the crawlspace is coming up through the floor and into your house.

Exactly whats happening. THe crawlspace is the same temp as out side. And there is no insulation in the floor between.

I have elctric baseboard heat.
I have been in my attic and there is about 16" of blown insulation up there.

Home heating/ ventilation question.

My house was built in the mid to late 90's. It is well insulated and has double pane windows and all that good stuff. But it loses all its heat during the night. If I want to be alittle comfortable in the morning i have to keep the heat downstairs cranked all night. And still the floor on the main floor is freezing cold on the feet.

Under the main floor is a 4ft crawlspace with a dirtfloor with thick plastic over it to keep the moisture down. There are 4 plastic vents open to the outside that i can feel cold air flowing in. I think that is what is keeping my house cold. BUt I know that hot air rises so where could it be going?

If i cover the vents with insualtion It will keep my crawlspace warmer but will that keep my house warmer? What kind of damage can I do with the trapped moisture coming up from the soil under the plastic?

If do cover the vents up it would be jsut for the winter months.

Does anyone out there have any insight into this for me?
