Ha, my favourite part is both of them together cost less what 1 bike in this article would cost
I'm sure everyone's frothing over my cheap, stock, black, Toyota matrix and my cheap (ok- mid range aluminum), stock, black trek remedy
My package didn't work for me, Lululemon athletic does though
My new move for winter has been wearing a pack, which these days seems like the least cool thing to do. But when I pull out a puffy, spare gloves, toque, lights, etc... Makes me glad I'm not going minimalist like in summer!
Then all the friends that would rather freeze or wear too much then have nowhere to put things because they wouldn't be caught wearing a pack are jealous lol
Edit, also doubling up with nitrile or latex gloves from your first aid kit or whatever is a good way to beef up your gloves in a pinch, I've been putting them on the outside of regular bike gloves in downpours, lose a little grip but dry hands are nice, seen people putting them as the first layer too but haven't tried myself
Careful with what you stash in those elastic side pockets, lost a multi tool out of there. Added another Velcro strap around that part so it doesn't happen again.
I now fit ; zip ties, tire plugs +poker, quick link, multi tool, patch kit, 27.5 tube in mine.
This could be easier to operate with frozen numb hands too
I stick a retracting cable ski lock in my bag sometimes, smaller and cheaper than this
3rd choice=clip in
Part of why I've switched to clips lately is my last pair of five tens wore out
Pure fan vote, then we'd end up with a popularity contest.
Also I don't think transparency would help with anything, would only help the angry internet mobs single out who 'robbed' their favourite rider and make being a judge even less appealing.
Do you think the judges would change their scores if they knew they were being published? The only change they would make would to be going against their judgement and score a popular rider higher to avoid scrutiny.
And the judging panel is fair, how can you expect the most experienced (and willing) judges for an American event to not be mostly American. Lots of American riders get 'robbed' but fairclough gets the label of most robbed this year because his run was unique (hard to compare against the others) and he's a very popular rider so lots of out cry from fans.
I think it works pretty well considering its a near impossible event to judge.
Never heard of doing that before, have you ever changed a flat with it? Must take forever from zero psi.
Seen 2 broken hangars in the past year, not a lot but having one would save you from having to coast wherever you are.
No derailleur hangar? Mine is zip tied and taped to my seat rail, can barely even see it but nice that it's there, and I'm never going to forget it
I think these guys instructional videos are hit or miss but this one hits everything I've worked on
For me learning to wrap the wrist around the bar you are pulling across your body was a big step and since then I've been working on the legs and hips
"The compound on the Convict is slightly firmer than some of the Maxxis and Schwalbe tires."
That's a pretty vague statement as maxxis and schwalbe offer a ton of compounds. I would think you are comparing it to maxxis 3c maxx terra or maxx grip, and schwalbe Vert star/trail star? As those are the (most popular) options on a minion/mary.
Anyways a couple friends used convicts for DH all summer with rave reviews, deserves to be thrown in the mix with minions and magic marys
So the chain keeps spinning when coasting? Extra wear? I think I've seen this before but pretty recently so could be the same thing
