Two Tools and a Floor Pump from Pro* - June 29, 2021, 7:04 p.m.

I came here to post about Scott, and how they're annoying haha.

Y handles are my go to, can spin them fairly easily and still put a lot of torque, I use a 4/5/6 constantly, that Pro wrench has me wanting to upgrade from the basic park tool one

7mesh Thunder Pants and Men's Skypilot Jacket - Jan. 25, 2021, 1:07 p.m.

Thankfully I wear riding kit a lot more often than my suit.

My Battle with Elbows (5 Elbow Pads Back to Back) - Oct. 22, 2020, 8:43 a.m.

The consensus I get is; not cool look,  and vast majority of them are really uncomfortable.

I've got skinny arms so unless they're tightened like a blood pressure cuff (and most of them don't have straps that will tighten them properly anyway) all elbow pads become wrist guards on a rough downhill.

Free Your Junk (and Ditch your Chamois) - Aug. 28, 2020, 9:24 a.m.

Lululemon men's athletic underwear is a great option too.

I think it's all a personal preference/fit thing. With the right saddle it's easier to ditch it, and might depend on your bum too.

Cure Your "2006 Posture" with Cone Training - Aug. 11, 2020, 7:21 a.m.

I agree and think just survival riding and ticking off trails can lead to a skill 'plateau'

Dream Rides: 2018 Porsche 911 GTS & 2020 Specialized Enduro Expert - July 19, 2020, 5:03 p.m.

Mmhmm snowmobiles are the only motorized sport I've had experience with and they make mtbing look cheap too. Add the logistics of storing/transporting, and lining up the good weather days with good partners to go with means its hard to get the same fun per dollar as a mtb.

AJ's Packless Carry Solution - May 5, 2020, 9:24 a.m.

I've heard of that happening and check mine once in a while, has always been fine.

AJ's Packless Carry Solution - May 5, 2020, 9:22 a.m.

Yeah my big 'too much gear' pack I'll bring sometimes when I know we're going with a big group with people that are newer and usually have something wrong with their bike... Lo and behold "hey Kevin do you have a shock pump/spoke tool/bandaid/chain lube etc" it's like I could see the future. But on my own or go-to riding buddies that are keeners the minimalist set up has worked 100% of the time so far.

AJ's Packless Carry Solution - May 5, 2020, 9:11 a.m.

Very similar to my 'usual' set up although I don't have the one up pump so multi tool in pocket, tire plugs and a few zip ties strapped with the tube. Plus spare hanger and quick link taped snugly to seat rail.

Also will bring out a big evoc pack for certain rides that fits the "too much" description to a T and might have the kitchen sink tucked away in the bottom. But needed for my guiding gig in the summer, rides where help is far away, etc. I do get a kick out of it when I save the day with something weird in there though.

Giant Clutch Hidden Bike Tools - Feb. 7, 2020, 3 a.m.

Wonder if there's a way to do a hidden pump. Topeak does one that hides in a (non dropper) seat post. But then again anything that tiny would be probably be a terrible pump.

Dear Santa: Cam McRae's List for 2019 - Dec. 17, 2019, 10:09 a.m.

Pants are high on my list too, heard good things about the race face agent, and the fox options look good too, they're all expensive though :(

2019 Gift Guide: Week 3 - Nov. 28, 2019, 3:33 p.m.

Honestly the showers pass waterproof socks would make a good gift. I put off getting waterproof socks forever thinking spending that much on socks is silly but they're the only 'wet feet' solution I've used that works, and will probably last longer than my shoes.

Rob Warner & Finn Iles Ride at High Elevation in Ecuador - Nov. 28, 2019, 12:58 p.m.

There's a full 24 minute episode on red bull tv and it (and the whole series) is really good!

2019 Gift Guide: Week 3 - Nov. 28, 2019, 10:04 a.m.

I was using one daily at work, similar black diamond model, and just found it a pain dealing with batteries over time and switched last winter and will never go back. Frequent use, USB is the way to go for me!

2019 Gift Guide: Week 3 - Nov. 28, 2019, 8:03 a.m.

USB rechargeable head lamps can be had for similar or less than that one, much more convenient if you use it a lot
