As someone who enjoys mountain biking and trail running, and not that excited about the popularity of e-bikes, I keep waiting for e-running to show up. Just think of the PR's runners could get with a running specific, robotic exoskeleton! I would bet money that it's coming...

I realize this is an older article, but I'm getting ready to build up a mullet wheelset for my Banshee. 

I like the idea of a 35mm KOM light on the front and a 30mm tough on the rear, but after perusing the WTB website, the KOM light only goes up to 30mm width, but you mention in the review comparing the weight of the i40 light to the i40 tough. Am I missing something?

I've liked the maxxis razr AT's that are on my truck. Pretty good on road, really good on snow and mud and dirt. The only downside is the need to be rotated more frequently than BFG's, like every 3-5K miles.

Definitely over the BB.

I used some mastic tape to cover the holes in front of the rear tire, and a little mucky nuts fender zip tied above that. Seems ok most of the time.

Agreed, I had no issues with the internal cable routing, aside from dropping half of an exit port cover into the down tube and needing to take the fork off and turn my nearly complete bike upside down to get it to fall out of the head tube! But, I consider that user error. 😉 

As far as cable rattle, I just used housing damping foam.

Sorry to hear the bad news Andrew. I'm 6 weeks into recovering from getting a new ACL installed, and 8 weeks out from a type 2 shoulder separation, and I understand the restless feeling. Fortunately, I was able to take care of things before the new Covid surge hit Bellingham! I've been really enjoying your articles in my down time! Never considered upgrading the grips on my crutches, that's a good one. Looking forward to more excellent articles from you in the future! Just remember that nothing lasts forever. This is a great article and comment thread! Been kicking around the idea of a full face since I started teaching a few years ago. Even though I've been riding for over two decades in a half shell, full coverage seems like a good idea with modern trail speeds. If can't talk, I can't work, and I've definitely crashed face first a handful of times. No significant damage, but close calls in my book. Mostly what's been keeping me from taking the leap is that I had no idea where to start. This has given me some superb ideas! Hopefully availability will get better soon!

I definitely love my Julbo's  for PNW jungle riding. They usually stay mostly fog free. As far as prescription glasses go, I only wear them for short after work rides. Otherwise, it's contacts under my Julbos and I keep an extra pair, just in case. I've had contacts fall out before and it sucks if I don't have a back up. Wouldn't be comfortable depending on one pair of glasses for longer rides.
