The old Stairs Of Despair brought much joy and adrenaline in the days before suspension, back when my only armour was a stem pad. Getting down them wasn't the scary part, it was negotiating the left turn at the bottom!

Sad to lose someone who loved mtn biking so much.

It used to be about what I can ride.

Now it's about when I can ride it.

Anything that keeps riders in the woods is a good thing.

Thanks for hanging in through all this disruption. With all the chaos across the border, it's easy to forget how easily things can go sideways up here too!

It's always good to have an event that brings the mountain bike community together and reminds people how passionate we are about the trails.

Congrats on cleaning Bookwus. Well done! I rode it yesterday and, being officially old, I decided to walk a couple of sections. Maybe if I wore the same armour as when I was younger?

Sigh. Kids these days...

It had me checking the calendar. Maybe someone in marketing screwed up and released the video too early?

You know how there is a skiers code on the back of every ski pass? Maybe we need to have a bikers code pop up every time you load up trailforks.

When I started mountain biking - long long before the invention of the internet, someone usually had to show you the trails. People were indoctrinated into mountain biking by people they knew and as such, indoctrinated to the "biking code."  I've never taking a mountain bike clinic or seen a code printed but 20+ years ago, everyone seemed to know the rules of the trail. I bet many riders who are under the age of thirty do not even know there is a rule to let the climbing rider have the "right of way." If I grew up riding whistler bike park, I would assume that mountain biking is all about going downhill too.

I have 4,000 km on my Ohm Sport over 2 years and the battery is fine. The chain was replaced this summer, but it's hub drive so chain wear is much the same as most bikes.

My friend with a mid-drive e-bike says he wears chains faster than usual.

Don't panic.

Especially worthwhile if you want to prove that 26'ers are still alive.
