Re: How much rise?

The chromag bar I am running is 5 back 8 sweep so it is exactly what the same as the One Up.

I do have some spacers on the underneath but don’t want to mess around with that too much as it will change my reach.

Re: How much rise?

Thanks everyone for taking the time To respond.  I will try a 35mm.  Anyone have a discount code for a one up bar?

How much rise?

Need some advice

I am looking to add some rise to my bars.   I am currently on some cutlass bars with a 17 mm rise.  I find that on some fast techy straight away sections with drops like oilcan or on the one section of executioner near the bottom, I am pitched more forward than I like.  Hoping to counteract this with adding more rise but not sure how much.  Bars are not cheap so I want to get it right the first time.  I like the oneup bars but they only come in 20 an 35mm rise.  Is 35mm too much of a jump? Suggestions and advice please.

Re: Here's a fun one. What was the first mountain bike you owned? Second bike?

Blue Kona Lava Dome 1995 I think.  STX group with rigid fork. Chaz sold it to me in the original Cove.  Upgraded later to those yellow Quadra 21r.

Grease and bearings

Any recommendations for a particular type of grease for repacking bearings.  I have in the past used Phil wood grease but finding it a little too thin.

Suggestions?

Re: Mini pump or CO2 inflator

Wife bought me a Giant “clutch fork storage”  It stows a co2 canister and inflator up in steer tube.  Works great.  No rattle and installs in minutes.  I have the lezyne plugs zap strapped under my seat.

Thanks

Thanks to the guy who helped out my son’s friend with the flat today on Fromme.   According to my son, you were riding a 2016 Reign.  If you get in touch with me, I would let him know who you are so he can replace your tube.

Mastic tape

Looking for some mastic tape to finish off my build.  I know I can find it online but want to buy it locally today.  I am on the shore.  Anyone knows where they can get this stuff or if anyone has some lying around to sell me.  I just need enough for one chain stay

Re: Modern Slayer versus 2014 E29

Not to derail the thread but the insurgent is a bike I am interested in, that and the Mach 6.  Can you tell me more about the insurgent. Any cons?  How is the chain slap as the chain sits really close to the chain stay.  I am on a 2016 reign advance.

Thanks

Re: Spokes and wheelbuilding

Great info everyone.  I splurge and bought myself a tensiometer.  If you use one, what tension reading should I be aiming for?
